True. Used them for ages with no issues until recently when a phone i ordered didn't arrive. Then had a battle to get the refund but luckily PayPal sorted that

Disappointed it doesn't reduce to just over £100 to retain access to S75 protection. Think I'd rather pay the £105 non-code price and treat the unclaimed £7 reduction as paying for an S75 insurance policy!
Link seems to be dead
Standard price for this phone
Not to be confused with the note 4 which has a higher res screen and better processor for £110

EU stock though?
I've got this phone & I find it to be brilliant for the money, as for the note, not everyone wants a 5.5" phablet, this is 5" & is perfect

Only for the Gold colour. Good price considering EU shipment.

Yes exactly the same issue and boy is it difficult getting anything out of them... all you get is polite but absolute denial and refusal to reimburse, as you said it needs PayPal to step in
Hot for this particular phone at this price and EU delivery. Bad timing for me as I just bought one from another retailer for £30 more after a lot of dithering over where would be best. One thing I didn't realise which isn't a deal breaker is that it doesn't have dual band WiFi, only 2.4GHz.
Is this the global rom or the chinese rom version?

Didn't used to be universal across credit card providers for foreign transactions - it is now?

Looks like it's Global version for UK market. It comes with factory UK plug, not an adapter added by the retailer.

Legislation obligation for UK-based credit providers has always been any transaction from any merchant provided merchant is paid directly from UK card for any one single item costing over £100 or multiple items costinging over £100 each (part-funding by credit card also applicable). £30k ceiling. Only becomes a little complex when using intermediaries such as PayPal, so simply avoid PayPal (PayPal offers inferior protection anyway). i ordered a phone from this rip off company & the courier they sent it with refused to ship it to the UK because the phone has a battery so Gearbest sent me mail saying the uk post office returned the phone to them because the address i provided was wrong & they said i need to pay return p&p cost,i have ordered from them before but only small cost items like usb enclosures, mii band watch so i opened a dispute claim with paypal & when paypal asked them for the tracking number (which shows the phone is still in china) they told the truth what really happened with the courier refusing to ship to the UK because of the battery inside the phone. why did they LIE about the post office returning the phone because of wrong address ? why did they try to charge me money for royal mail returning a phone which never left china ? why even HUKD posting deals for gearbest if this is how they treat customers they even tried to get me to close the case in return for full refund (paypal warned me no to do so as no guarantee they will issue full refund & i think that's what they will do if i close the claim) !!!!!!!! gearbest = lying thieves

(i bought 3 phones from ali express no problems at all so i have placed my order with them instead)====================

update 15.01.2018

phone arrived this morning so i did the right thing & closed the paypal dispute as item received & informed Gearbest who probably still thinks they have the phone back in their warehouse when in fact it was shipped without any battery issues. Gearbest need to get their act together (& STOP LYING & trying to charge customers return fee,i could have taking the phone + $157 but i don't do these sort of things). however i now have another phone coming from Ali Express i know i can sell it on ebay but still a hassle i could do without to be honest.

That is good to know....I knew remembered overseas purchases used to be a grey area - but that link you gave said it was settled by court of appeal

"Are overseas and web purchases protected?

Yes. This used to be a hot potato, when this got to the Court of Appeal and it confirmed this applies to everything you buy. Whether it's in the UK, abroad or on a foreign website, Section 75 applies.

This is a real boon, as often if you buy something using a credit card abroad it's much more difficult to get in touch with the retailer. So don't bother, simply make a claim directly against the card company."
Does anyone know where to get a 4gb version for similar price from in the EU or UK?

The 4gb is not the global version with band 20, but there are some UK sellers on EBay that have them in stock.
Can't get free shipping. Anyone else have any joy?
I would jump on the black version. But this gold is not nice

I would jump on the black version. But this gold is not nice

Just put a case at the phone to keep it protected from scratches and the gold back is hidden. For example this one: aliexpress.com/ite…ail
Absolutely amazing phone, had one for a month now, and after years of not being quite happy with any of the usual phones this has made me a happy shopper. Incredible for the money, and with its extra qualities (IR Blaster, Very long Battery life, proper one handed use, good FM radio, ok camera, pretty loud speaker and rather impressive smooth performance overral...and a headphone socket) I feel like I have as good a phone as many of the sub £400 ones out there which are missing the above.

I got mine on eBay for £105 from a UK / Ireland highly rated seller, and even though they said could take a month to deliver, I had it in two days, so maybe worth looking on there if not totally trusting in Chinese Shops.

Just to add it updates to Miui 9 OTA and has been great on that. The Split Screen is really cool on it, and I can happily watch a YouTube video whilst browsing though various tabs on Chrome with to me what seems extremely smooth performance.

I bought the gold one a few months back, and three people have bought this phone after seeing mine. It looks really classy, but its easy enough to get a cover if you don't like it. Brilliant phone.
been cheaper before looking at previous prices
Not sure if it's been cheaper from EU warehouse.
The discount code has expired and is no longer working.
But the phone is still available from HK warehouse for £95.58 (at today's exchange rate) or $126.99 if you have some spare dollars. gearbest.com/cel…tml

Thanks but that's not comparable as it isn't the Global version (lacks B20). I asked the seller at the time when black was in stock, and he confirmed it was "International Rom" edition. Considering this it is expensive, even with EU warehouse.

Just tried and code still valid
Gearbest still insist that the phone is back at their warehouse & i keep telling them i have received it,they asked me 3 times (are you sure, please check again) so i just sent them photo of the online tracking which shows the day & time it was delivered. i was in similar situation but with a UK company for an item 3 times more expensive i found out 2 months later that they did not take the money out of my card so i told them about it & they charged my card within 24 hours no further questions asked but Gearbest still asking me are you sure !!! lol

It will be a Singapore / Malaysia plug (same as UK) as Xiaomi don't sell in the UK. That said I bought this exact phone (Global ROM) from a Chinese AliExpress outfit in May 17 £108.00 and would highly recommend it - the other month Xiaomi they did an OTA update to their MIUI 9 UI / Android 7
