Im looking for a spare phone , non instagram/snapchat/twitter/periscope/nose stuck to a phone 24 hours a day/non hipster/ prefer to actually talk to people face to face/ general user, dont need anything flash, i wanted android,a reasonable screen, camera, send texts, make a call, browse the net a bit. Phone will probably be shoved in my pocket ( rules out Samsung boom! just joking ) thrown on a desk, get covered in dog slober and pretty much inadvertently abused on a daily basis.
At under a hundred quid its cheap enough that your not going to treat it better than your kids and not overpriced enough that your going to cry yourself to sleep because your daughter borrowed your phone on a night out because she wouldnt dare risk hers and then dropped it getting out of a taxi because she cant handle her vodka :P Ive got no idea what band 20 is and i dont really care to be honest, we've had Xiaomi products before with no problems at all and we've used Gearbest and Banggood with no major hassles ( my hobby is RC quads i buy stuff all the time from both)

If this can help you cool if not youve just read all that rambling for nothing

Consider paying more somewhere else that charges £100+ and pay directly with UK credit to benefit from section75 protection where the UK-based credit provider becomes jointly and severally liable for servicing warranty etc.

Or just use Gearbest/Xiaomi/Paypal themselves and pay £12 to send it back for repair , never had an issue with warranty repairs or any other problem to be honest, ive got a number of Quads here ( or drones whichever you prefer to call them ) which easily outprice the latest phone model ( collectively) one arrived faulty and they sent me a whole new one and told me to keep the other for spares ( which i did ) aside from that and ignoring the sometimes slow postage which is not their fault i cant complain, ive been a customer of Gearbest, Banggood, Dealextreme , Tmart and Aliexpress for years without issue.
One of the reasons i posted was because i have just spent 90 quid having the eldest daughters screen replaced..............90 quid............for a screen ! before christmas i paid £13 for a Xiaomi Note 1080p screen and digitizer and fitted that one myself, 8 screws and it was done.

Obviously if you are uncomfortable buying from China then thats cool i wouldnt want anybody to do something they are not 100% comfortable with but personally , from my hobby side of things ( which costs more than most phones) i have had more run around from shops here in the UK than i have from anywhere else and ive bought stuff from a tiny island off Malaysia from a guy whos shop is actually a shack lol.

Enjoy though whichever you decide.

3gb / 32gb. worth £14 extra. agree it's excellent price spec combo

Definitely, if you require the extra memory then Wilson8208's link above has the better price of £109 !!
For myself most of the crap i produce is on my sdcard the majority of which is either my dog pulling stupid faces or of the inside of my pocket so its not a big issue , but Wilsons is the better deal for the extra £14.

Got no idea why his post isnt scorching for the price , the phone kicks the crap out of the comparable Samsung J3 , not that Samsung dont produce the odd top quality phone but £ for £ i believe the Xiaomi wins atm.

Assume this is way better spec than the redmi 4 that was posted last week for about 75 quid ....got a note 3 pro currently great and being recommending xiaomi to all but don't get their naming convention ...as bad as Samsung

Has anyone seen the GearBest rep floating around?

I need to ask the a question and I cannot remember what they are called.

Thanks

Hi png666,

Gearbest Store Rep Alice here.
Please feel free to ask me if you have any questions. and i am always glad to help

For more assistance, you can contact me here : Alice@gearbest.com

Although im a big fan of Xiaomi and im sure this is a good phone - For under £20 extra the note 4 global version found HERE at £117 is a far better spec, much more worth it:

better processor: snapdragon 625 vs 435
Better memory: 3GB / 32GB vs 2GB/16GB
Better screen: 5.5-inch 1920x1080p FHD Display 403PPI vs 1280 x 720
+ it supports band 20 which important to many

Also bear in mind Gearbest is a seller that is strongly recommended to avoid for phones. They load unofficial software loaded with adverts and bugs that will never see an update.

Unless you want to reflash it yourself, buy elsewhere.

Really ? never had anything like that installed on a phone i have bought from any shop in China , they sometimes dont install Googleplay and use a different web browser but most manufacturers who ship internationally install Play and Chrome.
Gearbest, Banggood, Tmart etc etc are mostly just middlemen i doubt they would have the staff or the time to sit installing apps on your phone just so they can see how long you are on pornhub, add on to that that every phone when you turn it on is actually at the main manufacturer boot and setup screen rather than already setup making it pretty difficult for them to install anything without your knowledge would make your suggestion a little unlikely add on to that the thousands of phones they send out weekly or the hundreds of thousands of laptops, tablets, tv's, digital boxes etc etc etc they send out i really doubt they are interested in the details of someone who buys a budget phone.

It will be the Russians next , y'know because there must be an enemy or a bad guy somewhere try to hack your details..................

Agreed. I have the phone and it's excellent. It's absolutely insane that your deal is not super hot.

Half the time it's totally pot luck whether a deal goes hot or cold.

Many people seem to vote cold out of spite or ignorance.

Here's a really good case - I bought 2
