What's the difference between the the global rom and global version? Thanks

I didn't realise the difference myself. A quick google gave me this:

Global ROM is software, Global Version is hardware.

Global Versions of phones usually support more LTE bands than the regular Chinese versions. Those bands will be there regardless of the ROM used.

Global ROM is software and can be installed on any device which has Global builds. Flashing a Global ROM on a regular phone will not make it Global Version in any way.

It's worth mentioning that its global rom rather than global version.

    What's the reality of that?

Would this be a better specced phone compared to the Huawei P Smart from CPW deal?
Was looking to buy another Redmi note 4X for the Mrs, is this a better option ??, was going for the 32gb version for about £112.
Just bought the Amazfit Bip watch from Geekbuying China .Took 12 days via free delivery option with tracking right from the off.No other charges to pay.Have also purchased from Ali Express a Redmi Note 4 phone with the same result. No problems as long as you choose the free delivery option and are willing to wait for the item .You will wonder why you have never done it before .

As Somnus explained, this is the global rom version. Its the Chinese version, and the seller has flashed the global rom on it. This is why there is no Band 20. It will work fine on some UK networks, but if you are on O2, or anyone that piggybacks of them, such as Tesco or GiffGaff, you'll get no 4G. If you use those networks, you need the official Global version, which will have the global rom pre installed, and will have the LTE bands for all UK networks.
still not seeing this for 134

I think it will be in the ball park around £155+, same as the Xiaomi Mi A1 4GB/64GB version.

Yep the launch price for the 4gb was 13999 indian rupees which is £155 but there is bound to be a third party (gearbest, banggood etc) mark up so probably about £180 initially. Oh and the first batch of 6gb go on sale in india tomorrow according to this article gadgets.ndtv.com/mob…716 but thats 16999 rupees or £188 before any mark up, of course both these versions do not support band 20

The 4gb/64gb note 5 pro is available from HK Goldway on aliexpress for wait for it £223 for gold and £246 for black link here aliexpress.com/ite…tml wow thats one hell of a mark up from the £155 launch price in india and no band 20 support. Hopefully this is not going to be the general price range when it becomes more available from other sellers, but cant see it being any cheaper than about £180 - £190

Thanks for replying, but I think BUCKUM2 is right - unfortunately!
    Decent price currently, heat OP

Is this much better than many of the 80-100 Redmi's floating about? Seems to be not quite budget but not quite high end

Nice looking phone as always from Xiaomi though

I'm considering giving my gf my Mi 6 and upgrading to the Mi Mix 2 or another device, she needs a phone but doesnt seem to be worth buying a mid range phone over a top phone as the money difference is not that much

Any advice on what to upgrade to? The Mi 6 has pretty blazing specs so Im guessing would need to be quite high end.

EDIT: Looking at the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s but open to suggestions

I won't be buying it when it first released, I'll wait a few months before the price settles down and there's an influx of deals posted on here.

Looks gorgeous, if the rumours are at all accurate (which with Xiaomi they usually are)

    Cheers for the headsup

Could'nt agree more i'm currently using the Mi6 was using redmi note 3 before that and the only thing i missed was the bigger screen but if the rumours are correct the 5.65" would be perfect for me
