This isn't the Global ROM version ie the International version with the clean installation of Android MIUI.

It's likely to be a localised Chinese version (albeit with English as a language option) but you run the risk of pre-installed local Chinese apps, bloatware etc which you don't get on a legitimate Global ROM version.

Pretty disappointing that they are still pushing out the Snapdragon 625.

+1

Not only that Gav, it has followed the numpty trend of nasty notches, has
no NFC from scratch, has no AC wifi and still no Band 20!

Why would anyone in their right mind, buy this model, over the
Sumptuous screened and simply stunning looking Redmi 5 Plus!!!
Isn't the Redmi Note 5 pro (chinese version) better than this? It has a 13mpixel front camera with flash as well and no notch and fast charging and the newer snapdragon 636 CPU. I'd go for that personally.

Jesus redmi 6, feels like 5 minutes ago they released the 4! Barely any difference between them since the 4 which is a shame

Snapdragon 625 again

They must have got a bulk deal from snapdragon
It's a real shame they've gone for a big screen again. I've heard the standard Redmi 6 will have a 5.45" 19:9 display instead, but with an HD only screen

Slapdragon 625 and a notch crotch
And don't forget Geekbuying are a very poorly reviewed Chinese/HK seller - So all the import Tax/Vat ,lack of warranty issues. Add to that their renowned poor to non existent customer service its probably worth a punt at £5 .

(Cue all the incentivised "Geekbuyers" claiming they have bought "hundreds " of items from Geekbuying and never paid tax , never had a problem ) - Yeah OK
This seems worse than the SD 636 rocking redmi note 5 pro. The Mi Max 3 pro looks interesting though.

New models in 2018 without band 20 is just stupidity. Hopefully there'll be a Global model which has band 20 at some stage

Link/links please?. :-)
I had a redmi note 3 pro for the past 2 and a half years and i dont know if id go for a xiaomi with a locked bootloader, tried to do all the messaging xiaomi for unlocking and you have to wait a ridiculous amount of months for them to respond. It sstupid how they ask you what the reason to unlock is. After waiting a few months the responded, the resposne? INGOT DENIED AN UNLOCK. Maybe youre asking why id want to unlock the bootloader? Well, firstly it comes with adware, when lounching chrome or any app really an add will pop up. Resets dont help as its in actual firmware as I believe so. Once you have many pictures in camera roll sonlike 1000 or so the phone struggles to manage them, when you hold to select a photo to delete it the phone will either take 30 seconds to do it or gallery will close, also when youre on facebook, messenger, snapchat or any app where you want to share the most recent picture with your family and friends, guess what? All the photos are jumbled up with no apparent order so I gotta scroll through 3000 photos to find the picture i only took a minute ago. OS is very buggy, however indont know if they improved it that well in newer versions but i still wouldnt want to go for one with MIUI, if they release that phone with stock android ill have it any day. Voted cold.

I meant your Global Version Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro 5.99 ...

Thanx for those 2 anyway. :-)

I'm a bit confused still, as the general concensus is, the Global Version Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro 5.99 DOESN'T support Band 20. :-(

But in a link for the same here: Global Version Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro 5.99 it DOES support Band 20!.

What am I missing?, or ... thanx.

Aren't allllllll those Xiaomi Redmi Phone's 'unlocked as standard' anyway?.

(Being non-UK/Chinese Phones anyhow?), or ...

I believe only the UK, and the USA 'lock' their Phone's :-(

As I don't think the rest of Europe bother's itself with such things? (I know that Africa definately doesn't, regardless ... )

It's the bootloader which is locked by default, meaning you can't install a custom android operating system until permission is granted.

There is no network lock I.e. you can use any sim card.
Haa yeah seriously, how is this a good deal when you get a Redmi note 5 pro for less than this (with more RAM+storage, better processor)? Am I missing something? For the love of God, please tell me I am!
OK, so I didn't realise this has a 19:9 display. As a consequence it is actually around the same size as the Redmi 5, so actually kinda interesting to me (and presumable others with little fingers!). It's about the same size as an S9.

What is it with android Phone's coming without a Micro SD Card slot these Day's?, I don't get it?.

Formally it was just Google's NEXUS brand of Product's that did their customer's this way (when even £60 Android Devices were rocking a Micro SD Card slot).

But now ..., then

Part of the beauty + POWER of Android was it's former versatility over that of allllllllll those iDevices out there.

BUT, if this current 'trend' of thing's is to go by etc, then some of these Android Device Manufacturer's are choosing to shoot themselves in the foot?! - in much the same way as Apple did when it decided that from iPhone 7 up, it would no longer have the phono jack again ... (so now you have people in public/on the trains/buses, with these excessively expensive, and dare I add pointless funky bluetooth headphone things, costing the best part of £130-£140+ a POP?! - let's be real, I can almost buy the WHOLE of my above Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro Phone for similar sort of money, for real?!). :-(

When will allllllll this madness end I wonder?. :-(

Lol, ohhhhhh well.

Not sure how, they left out the Scoc chip, so it only has dual N wifi not dual AC wifi as I said, maybe someone at Xiaomi changed their minds and included it on the sly, to make up for the nobbly notch, no nfc and no 800hz, band 20! Will triple check!
Great price and great phone but this phone is £125 from Ali Express...

They are, gearbest are probably a bit better because they offer more postage options (last time I ordered anyway) and gearbest have a better reward system than geekbuying.

Geekbuying are fine I think the guy just has a chip on his shoulder, I used to use them a lot but I now I usually use gearbest.

It really just depends which one has the better price on a specific phone, as the two sites are quite competitive on pricing

Site fights aside don't get this phone, the redmi note 5 is much better in every way

Agreed. Basically if Xiaomi are going to knock out so many Redmi 4, 5 and 6 variants they need to build a small one with a 5 inch screen, a medium one with a 5.5 inch screen, and a big one with a 5.8 inch screen.

The Redmis were reliably compact with spectacular battery life up until series 4. 4X was the sweetspot. Then they just got bloated.

I wouldn't bother with either. I'd buy from Hong Kong Goldway on Ali Express. Ordered from them loads of times in the past and it's been perfect. £125 for exactly the same phone in this deal.

The price should be lower, agreed, (and is elsewhere) but not all of us want a massive phone like the Note 5.
A year of phones with ugly notches. I wonder if Apple made a complete square brick of a phone, all would follow suit. Roll on next year....
The note 5 pro has better specs and is cheaper. Why on earth would anyone get this, especially with a notch

You need to change the warehouse option - it's £125.

In any event, the Note 5 is probably better (and probably the Note 6 as well):
