Xioami? Is that a new brand

No! Huge brand in Asia, been in Europe for a few years. Introduced UK operations today

Edit, just got the joke. ( Move on nothing to see here) 😚😚

Come on it's not hard. This deal is with Three. The OP is saying the price is similar to the Gearbest price but without the wait etc.

[Full list]Xiaomi Redmi 6A 5.45" 2GB 16GB 4G Smartphone - £98.99I hope the Pocophone isn't an indication of expected UK prices Oh, hold on. The eBuyer phone is 2GB, the OP linked phone is 3GB. Typo or fact?

It's strange that eBuyer have the full lineup (except Mi 8 Pro) at £1 less than mi.com/uk price but aren't a partnered outlet: mi.com/uk/…uy/

Edit: Ignore above comment. They aren't in shown in that page but appear to be an official outlet as seen here<

This doesn't have NFC does it? Anything else obvious missing from it? Cracked the screen on my Wileyfox Swift 2X so looking for a suitable replacement.

Are ebuyer ones definitely UK models? Maybe they are buying global versions in and taking the risk on warranties?

It wouldn't take much of a modification to block the second sim card slot …It wouldn't take much of a modification to block the second sim card slot though, just a bit of plastic covering where the sim goes.I'm watching these Xiaomi deals with interest as I want one

Well the Global Version Redmi 6A has 2 trays with one being SIM + microSD and the other tray being the 2nd SIM slot, so I guess it would be possible but I don't think any other region does that. Three Ireland launched Xiaomi last week. They don't have Redmi 6A. However they do have Redmi 6 and on their site, it's advertised as having dual SIM: three.ie/bra…-6/
Attended their interview for store launch and should been there today

Their banner says "launched today" and all of the listings are on pre-order with expected stock on 12th Nov, so I would assume they're UK models.

Edit: See image here<. Ebuyer were listed as a retailer for the Mi Band 3 during the launch event so they must be an official outlet but just aren't mentioned on the UK Mi Site.

Who cares about usb 3.1 at this price point . But if you buy phone above …Who cares about usb 3.1 at this price point . But if you buy phone above £250 mark , I guess it does . Poccophone has it . To call your phone flagship like with Oneplus , without usb 3.1 , is just not right . They are not innovating but still listing phones at high prices around £500 or more.

Excellent deal this. I know three are selective with which handsets they enable WiFi calling on hopefully can use some time on the max 3.

Can't remember where I picked that snippet from but Wiki gives their basics
"Xiaomi released its first smartphone in August 2011 and has rapidly gained market share in China to become China's largest smartphone company in 2014.[4] As of the start of Q2 of 2018, Xiaomi is the world's 4th largest smartphone manufacturer,[5][6][7] leading in both the largest market, China, and the second-largest market, India.[8] Xiaomi has expanded into developing a wider range of consumer electronics, including a smart home (IoT) device ecosystem.[9][10][11][12]

Xiaomi has 15,000 employees[13] in China, India, Malaysia,[14]Singapore and is expanding to other countries such as Indonesia, the Philippines, and South Africa.[15][16] According to Forbes, Lei Jun, the founder and CEO, has an estimated net worth of US$12.5 billion.[17] He is China's 11th richest person and 118th in the world.[17] Xiaomi is the world's 4th most valuable technology start-up after receiving US$1.1 billion funding from investors, making Xiaomi's valuation more than US$46 billion.[18]

Is this the 32gb, 3gb RAM or the 16gb, 2gb RAM version?
Does the 3 deal require taking out a contract ?

Also, how does 6A compare to the Mi a2 Lite and my current - old - HTC One M8 ?
Edited by: "AdamBrunt" 8th Nov 2018
Shame the A2 lite isn't just abit cheaper. Will go with eglobal
Do we know if this will work Ok with Android Auto - I believe there have been some issues with this Android variant.
12nm but even so, a bigger battery would have been nice.
Good deal but what is even better is the fact that that they're officially in the UK now

The deal is for Redmi 6A which is 2GB + 16GB dual sim + storage. mi.com/uk/…cs/

Preorder? Any idea of when it will turn up if we order tomorrow?
cant find anything on 3 site about them - or where to buy
Once dubbed the Chinese Apple, I bought one of their earlier Redmi phones a couple of years back, amazing unit! Highly recommended.
gearbest.com/cel…303

£85 at gearbest without the miband 3 so a bargain with no customs
When is this out. Says pre order from tomorrow. Link just goes to three. What are the specs?

It doesn't play fortnite but it does play PUBG. But that's not much good, kids want to be playing fortnite mostly.

Redmi 6a, better screen and processor.

Honor 7 is 1080p, 3GB, has Gorrilla Glass, has the A53 at a higher clock, faster ram, better camera. Main con, older software.
Redmi 6a is has ips screen, and a newer faster processor, the A22 immediately starts setting itself apart from the MT6739 thanks to its manufacturing process: it is the first entry-level MediaTek SoC to be produced on a sub-28nm process, with MediaTek specifically using TSMC's 12nm process. m.gsmarena.com/com…217

I wonder how they treat their employees, the environment & the ratio of R&D v Stealing Tech. Such fast profitable growth & ethics rarely coincide.
But I suppose we should enjoy this consumerist exploitative polluting fun time while it lasts

Yes, I always consider all of those negative points before deciding on the best value deal for me. I'm sure you will understand this site a bit more after a couple of months. It is a bout deals and not ethics. Try another forum if you want to change the world but welcome to HUKD/QUIDCO/TCB

Absolutely. I've lost count of the amount of smartphones I've had over the years and not one has ever malfunctioned in its first 12 months.
