Good deal.. I'm holding out for the note 8 to hit around the £115 mark and snapping a few up for me and the kids
Is there any guide to xiaomi phones - like a matrix showing age/spec/ which model replaces which. I find the range totally confusing and given that they have so many phones around the £100-£150 I'm never sure which is the best buy.

Why is this a good buy? Camera seems low spec compared to others in the range.

I ordered a note 8 pro for £145 on singles day which i thought was a good buy. but when i look atr the 6 and 7 I keep thinking the 6 is a better spec.

Its listed on the mi uk site, but I'd imagine it'll be a while before it hits that price.

Check out gsmarena.com It gives details of specifications of smartphones and has a compare feature to compare phones, and a search facility; you list the features you want on a phone.

From £179 from Xiaomi UK but I got a 4GB/64GB one from Eglobal for just over £100 delivered..
Banggood have the sharp S2/c10 on sale for 77 quid, with not dissimilar specs to this. How does it compare? 4/64, decent camera and screen, and NFC. I think I need to be talked out of adding to my pile of shame...
Hi, could you explain how to do the "£60 off the price" coupon/trick? Can't seem to find it anywhere.

Thank you Switchy, after few minutes of fiddling about with MI app and creating an account I managed to get the same £60 of coupon as in your post. Thanks for help and quick reply

The note 8 pro is better then the 7 or 6, unless you are also referring to the pros of those versions too? sounds like you got a great buy for the note 8 pro though.

The sharp S2/c10 I asked about in comparison to it here's the link. If anyone can offer an honest opinion between the two, I'd appreciate it.

Great buy if it turns up from china.....
But yes looking at the 6 vs 7 - I have daughters who are complaining about their phones.

On paper seems better specced and with NFC which the Xiaomi just can't compete with unfortunately , and I know there are a few sharp fans out there.

Ive never even thought about a sharp phone in my life, so csnt give an honest comparison, whats the UI like on them?

The reviews are really …The reviews are really good.https://www.gsmarena.com/sharp_aquos_s2_handson-review-1700.phphttps://www.kimovil.com/en/opinions/sharp-aquos-s2It looks at least 150 quid everywhere else.

Battery seems a bit small, and updates may never exist
Apparently if updated it goes to android 8.1 and once there updates frequently. However it's apparently a fart on to get it to do the first update. Also the battery and performance are apparently far better than the stats would say, which is why it just feels too good to be true, why the redmi is still in my mind for my eldest.

You know what you're getting with a xiaomi.

The review of the Sharp is from 2017. Is that right?
Yeah. It came out as the S2 in the east in late 2017 and as it was a success it was realaunched mid 2018 as the c10 in the west with a couple of minor changes.

There really doesn't seem a lot not to like, and I love Xiaomi, but I'm not fussed with a couple of slightly invasive things they've done with miui11, which has just added to my dithering.
I've had the Sharp S2 / C10 for the last year and in general it's a great phone - certainly for the price. Screen display is excellent, speed, memory and storage all good. Only criticisms are battery life - I can get a day with usual wifi, 4G and bluetooth usage but hammer it and it won't make a day. Also the 4G signal isn't as good as my previous Nexus 6P. Lastly it doesn't have Wi-Fi calling - may or may not be an issue for some people.
