First thing that came to my mind
I been looking long and hard which is why I added this baby to my alerts list.. sigh.. on balance if both phones equal price I still think mi note 10 even with its flaws
quglarz25/03/2020 11:46

I like it

Same here I prefer when all the camera are located in the middle of the phone, Plus you will most likely have a case that would cover the back.

BTW - which network uses band 20.?

All of them to some degree
My next phone.....

Will skip for now, waiting for a better price and Global version.

But please don't post any more deals for this phone
That's quite some inflation from the K20 Pro.

Still a great phone for the price.

Yeah, sold mine a couple weeks ago, I was worried I'd miss the big screen but after a week or so you definitely adapt to a smaller screen

ok cheers going to miss the camera on it blows my samsung note 9 away
keeping a close eye on this one. Finally a proper successor to the k20 pro.

Will this also get a release similar to the mi 9t? mi 10t?

Couldnt agree more. Have you seen the increase for the Mi 10? Around £700! Massive leap from the Mi 9. Reading this yesterday suggests Qualcomm are playing hardball and there appears to be resistance.

They know their product is the best. Literally Rolls Royce, Porsche and Ferrari rolled into one. So they're pricing it high thinking companies will buy it anyway, arrogantly. I'm hoping companies start supporting Mediatek (their 1000L chip is a very very very competitive product )
I would be all over this if it was smaller I find anything above 6.2 too big
I'll prob get one when it's released global
Chinese local price for this is around $430......

We'll see this phone for £350-£400 in 3 months, then I'll buy

Haha I wish.
What's the differences between this and the Mi 10? Is Redmi more of a budget brand compared to Xiaomi? I know it's a sister company of Xiaomi.

Good article. It seems that external X55 5G modem that did it.
My suspicion is that Apple needed a 5G modem fast & that Qualcomm had no time to integrate it into the 865 SoC.
It makes business sense to produce it en masse.

Apple make their own SoCs no? Don't think qualcomm influence then at all.

Their modems will be from Qualcomm.

Edit: Since Intel left the mobile modem business.

If they had put a microsd card in there I think I would be buying this phone. Everything else looks really really good.

Probably with 8GB RAM rather than 6GB. Got to that point the extra is useful, especially if you are trying to take advantage of the SD865.

Correct. The Redmi range was there to push out Mid-high range hardware at midrange price, the Mi phones are the flagship range.

Used to be more valid but to be honest though they crossover now, since the Redmi K20 (Mi 9T) the Redmi phones have pretty much been the same premium build quality with Glass backs, high end optics etc...
What's the refresh rate?
This phone is looking like its going to be one of the only sd865 phones with out a hole punch and still using the popup camera. Shame about the refresh rate been 60hz but other then that I think this easily ticks all the boxes. I'm just going to wait for a price drop and global version

Don't blame you, between 90hz and 60hz I genuinely cannot tell the difference as I'm really not a gamer. I like how they've stuck with the pop up, makes it kinda unique in a boring pinhole world.

Nope! Typing this on and using the V50 atm, and it really makes no difference. Obviously side by side yes, but it's not a deal breaker for me currently. Maybe 120hz would change my mind.
