Would you say this is the best sub 200£ mobile? Looking for a first mobile for my niece.

Id still say it's quite a poor handset for the money compared to Xiaomi previous efforts. Apparently it's still on android 11 but not sure if that's true. If you're not too bothered about updates as it's two years ago or something now, the redmi note 10 pro can be had for under £200 which was the pinnacle of the note series. I also think the oppo X3 lite would be a better option at under 200 but again is now two years old. Recently I've see the Pixel 6a at under £200 and probably be had for £220 new on eBay so if you have a bit of extra money might be worth an upgrade. Same with the Honor 50 which can be had for around the same on eBay, or the Honor Magic 5 lite if it's on sale for roughly £220 on Amazon at some point. I'm sure if you needed a sub £200 phone right now this would be fine tbh but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Anyone know if this is a good upgrade from from xiaomi note 10 Pro, thanks

Nope, 4gb ram is not good by today's standard imo. 6gb should be min starting which is what the RN10P has. RN10P seems better and cheaper. This ain't the pro version so they would've saved the better specs for that. Please don't buy a 4gb ram phone unless you just want the basics out of it.

I can't make up my mind if I'm being unfair on the new Xiaomi Redmi / Poco phones. Somehow they don't 'feel' like such good bargains any more but then I look at what you are getting for £188 here and I think I could be being unreasonable. Maybe it's because there doesn't seem to be as much of an upgrade on each release nowadays. Even the amoled / higher refresh rates seem to have been around for a couple of generations / models now. Be interesting to see what others think? (edited)

I agree, the Xioami amazing deals seem to be no more . The last one I recall was the Poco F3 for stupidly cheap money last August.

So sad... I was constantly getting deals from Poco and Xiaomi. These days they are awful in comparison.

It's not that bad if you collect the mi points

Was going to get this as wanted a cheap Android but just can’t decide

You'd be better off buying a Xiaomi 12 lite from eBay. The Muppets on there are selling for silly prices, making about a tenner profit. Brand new one went for £209 the other day. Average price about £229.

I think I read that Xiaomi had a 30 drop in sales, so imagining they are increasing the price of the handsets they do sell?
I maybe wrong on this
DopeyDunker
Yes I read about the 27% sales drop. Also lost their top spot in India to Samsung apparently.

This or the Samsung A34 or the Honor 5 Lite? Fancy the 5lite myself.

Samsung A34 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro is also a good alternative

I heard there is no true proximity sensor, does it matter that much at all, for anyone who owns one ?

Some will say there's an issue, but never had it myself. I think it's more a case of how the phone is used. Plus Xiaomi have changed the hardware and software now. It's not really an issue anyhow either way.

Starting to get into more reasonable pricing territory now but still overpriced considering their previous handsets. Id pay this for the pro version

Update price.

They have gone the same way as one plus did..... its a shame

What do you mean? I just switch from redmi note 10 pro to Google Pixel 6a and I am thinking about switching back. The ONLY thing that pixel has is better is the camera. Everything else pixel is crap.

Hi, I have a Redmi Note 9T and need a new phone that is similar or a touch better so i can give my phone to my son. This is a dual sim plus SD card. I notice that many of the new phones are either dual sim or sim and SD card. Are there any (Xiaomi or similar reliable brand) phones that have dual sim and SD card in the £100 to £200 price range?
innocent
Not Xiaomi but even better, with 8gb ram and much sleeker than Redmi Note 9t which is no doubt good. As with Xiaomi Redmi Note 9t, limited OS updates. I have just posted a deal for you here : oppostore.co.uk/a94…tml
