Good luck with the fingerprint reader.

Why good luck? Mine works absolutely perfectly and reads my fingerprints in far less than a second, the only time it fails is when my fingers are wet but that's more than understandable.
To be honest before I got the phone I was not expecting the fingerprint recognition to be any good but It's the only way I unlock my phone now and would never buy another phone that doesn't have it.

Superseded now but still an excellent phone, especially at this price. Heat added. For the vast majority of non-obsessive mobile geeks this is basically all the phone you will ever need. And at less than a ton...

Good phone Had mine since june, still going great
I've got the Redmi Note 3 with similar specs that I'm pleased with, so this at under £100 looks like a great deal. Had mine 1.5 years now.

Excellent phone. Had mine for over a year. There is no need to pay more than around 100 notes for a decent phone these days. Great deal.
Does have band 20 according to the listing!

Should be noted no NFC, and quick charge isn't officially supported. (Although from personal experience plugging in a qc3.0 charger does quick charge it)

Had this phone for 6+ months and it's a great phone, the best value on any smartphone imo

All Xiaomi RN4 official global versions have Band 20.

I just thought I should mention it as it was buried in the listing and not everyone knows that

With AliExpress standard shipping can take well over a month
£10 more on gearbest gearbest.com/cel…d=4 , if you didn't want to use alipay

In the past (depending on the seller), postal times have been 2-3 weeks; minimum transit time (for me), has been 10 days, but some of the sellers dont ship until a week or more after receiving the order (one took a month to post - I dont use them any more).

However, further delays could be from UK customs holding on to it. Last month, they held my Note4 for nearly 2 weeks, before issuing an import duty bill of £4 (plus £8 handling fee).

Most of these items can now be tracked via a tracking number given by the seller on Ali Express; the tracking isnt perfect, and they can game it slightly; but using an official Chinese postal tracker I found the AE version was only early by 48 hours, and was identical by the time the phone arrived in the UK.

Ré Note3 v Note4; having owned both, I find the Note3 very slightly faster to open some apps; has a slightly longer battery life when on standby, but eats through the battery faster when playing the same games.

How recent?

mine have always taken about 12 days, other non essential stuff takes about 20-40 days but all the electrical items on free standard delivery usually about 2 weeks max.

Camera by a country mile is the biggest difference.

Around 4 weeks, slow boat from China.
Ordered one 6th March, apparently arrived in the UK last week according to tracking information.
anyone know why these phones never seem to have NFC

So disappointing!! Everything else is great... Definitely miss having NFC
Excellent phone for the price. Had mine over a year & it's never failed me.
Only issue I have with it is the camera/audio recorder. It's terrible. Have recorded bands at festivals & most are unlistenable
Ordered this about a month ago from the official xiaomi store. Received a Redmi 5 2gb/16gb instead. Just emailed them to see what they were playing at!

Can't see how that's even possible given imei's and the like.

Shame as my note 4 (from same seller) has been faultless for the last 7 months!
Agree, brilliant phone. Same problem at a concert, terrible sound which I think is a known problem with them. Camera is fine in good light, not great in poor light. I'm my view difficult to beat in this price band.

Just to clarify, on Aliexpress, there is no 'official' xiaomi store, they are all just sellers with xiaomi in the title.

There are plenty of 'official' sellers on there for other manufacturers like Ulefone, Nillkin, Cube etc, just not Xiaomi.
Had mine almost a year, and apart from dropping it twice and replacing the screen each time i still love it:)

Out of interest where did you get replacement screens from? Typing on a broken screen right now!
there is plenty of youtube videos,my last screen cost £17 delivered, and as long as you take your time, its fairly straightforward, just get a tempered glass screen protector and a decent case:)

Android Pay? Is there anyway of using mobile payments with this phone?

No NFC = no payment. Simple.
Guess the Sharp Aquos is by far the better deal at the moment. Good price though!
is there a 5.0 version of this spec phone ?
I’m sorry iv not a clue about these phones can anyone tell me does this have normal android and how does it compare with the mi a1?? Thanks

Sadly when it come to mobile payments we are definitely 3rd world.
China has Alipay and WeChat pay (1 billion users)
India have WhatsApp pay and Google Tez

We keep trying to push NFC payments yet the rest of the world is using QR.
