Yes
How does the warranty work? Do I have to shop it off to China under your own expense? I anyone had any experience with this?

That's what I assume - always puts me off these deals. They never used to allow these kind of deals lol ......
Xiaomi make very high quality products. I have numerous items from them and no problems so far. I have actually also ordered this phone from banggood, seems like a solid spec for the money and full UK 4g band support. I will eventually put lineageos on it, as I'm not a huge fan of miui.

This is a snapdragon powered phone so satnav should be fine and dandy. It's the Mediatek phones that traditionally struggled with satnav (my old Elephone P6000 was embarrassingly bad).

Forget about any meaningful warranty. But how many of the mobiles you have used have ever failed in the first 12 months? It's all about how much you think a warranty is worth but at 125 spondoolics this simply blows any UK-sourced mobile in its price category clean out of the water!

Don't get this, get the Redmi Note 3 instead. Better CPU.
Any recommendations for a case for this? Are the dimensions different for this - thinking of the official Mi Flip case.
I have the mediatek model of this phone. The build quality is surprisingly good, fingerprint works like anything else on the market and is accurate and snappy. Camera is really bad but I don't really care as I have a camera to take photos. The biggest problem with this model and for about 6 others I know, is that we all can't update our software.

They are confirmed ROMs from the Xiaomi website, the Mi PC app fails. We all get an error or it boot loops when trying.

This will be the only thing that puts me off a Xiaomi purchase in the future. Sat navigation also works perfect on the phone.
What's the battery life like?
I'm on the Redmi Note 2 at the moment and it's woeful.

I think it says a UK replacement warranty but Spain is the repair centre?

No problem with the international versions; both the children have international versions (Note 3 and 3S) which have regular updates.

If you really want to get updates, then you may want to go to the unoffical EU ROMs. A bit convoluted as you have to downgrade to a Chinese development ROM first. May have to get the bootloader unlocked beforehand as well......

No nfc on most of these imported chinese phones. I went for a Huawei P9 lite over an import because of this.
I managed to bag one just before they stopped production, but weirdly the xiaomi Redmi Note 3 pro (snapdragon variant) is a better phone that any of the Redmi 4 phones xiaomi have realised.

Why better? Even sd verson of note 4 is worse than note 3? Thinking of buying this one or note 3 se. Any advice?
Ordered one, thanks. Been waiting for this price drop. I'm not sure if anyone else has the same problem but it kept saying server busy when I tried to pay with my debit card, after a few attempts I used my credit card and it went through straight away.
an anyone tell me if this is a significant upgrade from a Samsung S4 as looking to get my wife a new phone but few sensible priced ones have made the upgrade worthwhile

Yes it will be a good update from the S4 - CPU is about 3 times more powerful (based on antutu) and amazing battery. Not to mention option for dual sims. Not sure about camera though.

As far as I know, Aliexpress don't take PayPal.
If you don't want the gamble it's worth paying the extra for the Lenovo P2 and getting two years warranty...OLED...1gb extra ram...And 20% more battery

Well that's down to the app you choose, not the phone. TomTom Go or NavMii free are very good SatNav apps!

thanks I have a Samsung note 2 still going strong but CPU use does get quite high a lot but the display and sound and screen are very good. Can tell the difference on youtube vs my dad's Huwaei honor 4x for example. So I don't see any point upgrading but always tempted!

I would only buy from a gearbest if from EU warehouse. OK this is aliexpress. Never used either!!
"Customs Duty : DHL Shipping may need to clear customs 95% that you may need to pay customs taxes" Any idea how much?
Ugh I forgot to remove their scam warranty before buying
My Mi Max free delivery was 17days from ordering to arriving in the UK, then 4 days for royal mail to deliver. Actually took 3 or 4 days for the order to be dispatched so actual delivery was only 14 days.
i think 20% VAT no duty but DHL will have handling charge of around £10.
Stay clear of AliExpress. Ordered phone in Jan and phone has not arrived and as per Royal Mail advice will not arrive. AliExpress are still reluctant to give refund after 2 months. I still don't know if I'll receive anything. Better to be safe with Banggood and Gearbest.

do any aliexpress suppliers have EU/UK warehouses like gearbest do? I nearly went to gearbest for a smart watch as my old strap broke but amazon wasn't much more expensive and you get guaranteed next day delivery! but the difference will get more in £ terms the higher up the food chain you go!

you're totally incorrect there. it was the performance of the gps hardware that was the problem combined with the lack of the hall sensor in the p6000 specifically.
