There were preorder prices like that on Aliexpress at the end of March. I ended up ordering a 4GB 64GB model for about £150 instead

Good price, but beware, joybuy play it by the book and write down the full value, therefore chances are you'll have to pay an extra ~ £35.00 in tax n handling
This has been on preorder since March. Has anyone received one yet

Indian Note 5 uses the 625 chip
Indian Note 5 Pro uses 636 chip, different frequencies to the Chinese Note 5.
China Note 5 uses 636 chip, (this 'deal' is for the global version of the Chinese Note 5)

It was £137 for 3gb/32gb blue with glass protector, but i got a email off seller on 25th April telling me he had received the first batch from xiaomi but they had mistakenly sent him too many 3gb/32gb gold and no 3gb/32gb blue. He offered me 4 choices accept the 3gb/32gb gold with a wired selfie stick or accept a 4gb/64gb blue for extra £10 or wait until he gets the 3gb/32gb blue from xiaomi or cancel and my money back. Needless to say went for the 4gb/64gb blue so cost £147

The China note 5 is not the global version. It lacks Band 20. The one announced in Indonesia is the Global version (with band 20).

Perhaps I worded it badly, what I was meaning was that 'this' deal was the global version of the Chinese note 5.

Not your fault. The naming of this phone is very confusing.
I have had the Redmi Note 4 Global (3GB, 32GB) for a year now, is the Note 5 much of an upgrade. The Note4 camera isn't great but apart from that its been a great phone.

The camera is certainly a step up, depends if you like the longer screen.

Mine arrived in the UK today, how quickly does it show on Royal Mail and did you pay customs? Probably if you do it will show a notice when it's at sorting office waiting payment.

Mine arrived yesterday at 06.17 at Heathrow and showed on royal mail tracking in the afternoon saying
ARRIVED IN THE UK HEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC it has not moved from there yet its probably waiting custom clearance hopefully will move on over night and should be delivered monday or tuesday.I have not had to pay customs in the past but going on what others have said royal mail will deliver a card telling you it is at your local sorting office or post office and the charge that is to be paid on collection keep checking on royal mail tracking once it starts moving through their system its pretty quick normally 2 days

Fortunately it's not bank holiday this weekend so hopefully the delivery will be quite quick. If you do have a fee you'll see a tracking notice saying so. But the card takes two days to arrive if you get the dreaded notice however you can pay online and they will deliver but that takes two working days so I'd collect.

Yes they send a UK adapter. As for customs, don't choose DHL, not much more you can do, it's all down to them, customs and luck. I would choose the priority line postage option, but it's up to you.
When buying through geatbeast are we covered by our credit card if it doesn't turn up? Or is like AliExpress with no protection, I would pay the extra few £ to make sure I'm protected.

Don't get your hopes up. I was one of the first to order on the big sale. Mine has been at Heathrow since Tuesday and nothing from the postman today. I have a feeling they are stacking them all up for a nice juicy customs letter for us all... According to aliexpress, not one UK feedback has been left on both 3gb and 4gb model. Every other European country has started getting theirs (even the poorest parts of the world). Royal mail are shockingly slow at international deliveries, quite embarrassing really.

What store did you order from, and i think you are right the last phone i ordered from the same seller last November, moved through royal mail very quickly. It actually went from arrived in the UK Heathrow worldwide to being at Cardiff sorting centre the following day and then delivered next day and of course no customs charges. So sad to say looks like customs have it

I got the 3GB version from a seller named "Xiaomi Online Store". Yeah, your right, normally it's in and out of Heathrow in a couple of days at the most. I heard they are cracking down on customs hard this year, especially on technology.
