Good price. Got it for similar price on Black Friday. Remember to pay with a fee free credit card for e.g. Halifax Clarity.
This is interesting:

If that is correct, the CPU in it is better than the one in the Mi 9T which makes this a very good deal.

I found the same info a few weeks ago.

I think the Mediatek is less efficient, but the Note 8 Pro has a bigger battery. It's a tough call between the two, but when you factor the price into it, ~£140 against ~£260, the Note 8 Pro wins. The better screen isn't worth the extra cost. Plus no motorised pop-up camera to break.
If you're worried about buying from Ali, it's on ebay at £169. Still a (high rating) Chinese seller, but the additional protection from ebay/paypal if you use them.

Would need to be in Grey at that price and that one doesn't have Band20 (which, admittedly, is not an issue for everyone)
HI how long does it take from aliexpress please?
kind regards

Does anyone know how likely it is that you'll get hit with an import tax bill when buying a phone from AliExpress?

(Got burned before buying one from eBay buyer outside the EU)

It is possible. You can use DHL delivery option to avoid this but in my experience that adds more than the customs charge anyway.

I thought using DHL was the guaranteed way to get stung by customs and other fees?

Yes, but basically you will have already paid the fee to DHL in the increased haulage cost
I order and received Mi9 a week ago from Ali with no customs fees. Was declared as Handset with $18 value Most of Chinese sellers do that, but you can remind them if you like before they post. Of course it might still be subject to random customs check and is a bit of a gamble from that point of view, but then still worth the risk imho, because in worst case it will cost similar to what it would getting it from local ebay seller.
im stuck between this and the mi 9t , what do people recormend
I've just joined to say I bought the 64gb version black Friday from aliexpress and it's total garbage. So many issues with it and such little help when googling issues. Here's my latest issue list to the seller, I'm going to return for a refund cause this thing is a nightmare. I'm about to put my sim back in my 4 year old phone, that's how annoying this thing is...

1. The fingerprint sensor is always on, any touch wakes the phone when it's locked
2. Only ever get 4gb ram
3. notifications disappear after a few seconds making them useless if I miss them
4. The proximity sensor is on all the time, not just calls. So anything across the notch turns the screen off
5. The "select all" option hardly ever works!
This phone is total garbage and I want to return for a full refund. I'll never buy a redmi phone again

Not this phone. It's rubbish
For anyone that owns a Redmi Note 8 Pro...does your phone have the same issue as mine;

When there is moisture on the screen, tapping on that moisture instantly switches the screen off. The only way to get the screen working properly is to totally dry it.

My old Redmi Note 5 never did this. So I'm just trying to work out if this is an individual phone issue - or a 'feature' of this Note 8 Pro
