Different buying experience though, people may prefer that extra £40 for the warranty alone
Mediatek processor...(so no Google Cam goodies).

No thanks

(Xiaomi need to keep it simple and stick with Snapdragon's)

I keep seeing Google Camera pop up ...but I have a Mi 9 and it says not supported in the app astore?

Looks like official app is only for Pixels now - is this actually worth installing from a different source? And is that what you do?
Am I missing something or is it not cheaper to head to Amazon.de (Germany) tomorrow and get it 229.90 Euros?

That is like the weirdest question I have ever had in one of my threads!

Well I'm glad I am the first I'm a Mi fan I live near the Mi UK store but it is 20 Euros less as a short term introductory offer. Not sure why Amazon.fr has not got this price, really hope UK has this soon at the intro price point. I used to import everything Xiaomi but sometimes now because of exchange rate it doesn't cost much more to buy with EU / UK warranty.
Thats if they even bother to release the products in Europe which not everything has been.

It isn't available from the Play store. You can download the .APK file from places like XDA Developers (who port it from the Pixels to work on things like the Mi 9).

Xiaomi have actually made a big push to make their phones compatible with the camera API's that are needed for things like Google Camera to work. So you don't need to do anything aside from download the APK and install it. It can make a really big difference to photos - especially in night mode.

But it is basically incompatible with mediatek processors (Pixels are Snapdragon)
