Heat added, good price. 🔥
Is eGlobalCentral reliable now? They used to have a shocking reputation.
Edit, looks like Samsung GM1 camera not IMX586 camera on a £133 phone..

Lacks AMOLED screen, but I think that would be a miracle at this price..

Got an A3 from them recently. Not as quick as promised but not horrific.

It's a lottery with any of these China/HL sellers. There are no consumer laws over there, so there's very little come back if anything goes wrong.
Most of the time everything's fine, but on the odd times it's not you won't find the companies very helpful...
Have been looking at this model this week actually. Anyone has any reviews from it??
Good price but a terrible seller, eglobalcentral are hands down the worst customer service experience I ever had. I wouldnt buy a phone off them again even if it was £50.

Two words.

Looked again at the spec and it may well be Samsung GM1 camera.

To claim money back here's 3 more words. "A lot of hassle". I lost track of of how many calls I made to get my money back after eglobal wanted £50 to ship a phone back to me after refusing to accept it was broken.
anyone know if this comes with a case?

most redmi phones now come with a tpu case in the box - would expect this to be the same

Nonsense. Took me ten minutes to get a refund of £350 from a ford garage no hassle no questions asked. The credit card company sides with you and puts the onus on the supplier to prove otherwise.

With my bank I had to submit/post all the communication and paperwork I had in writing to them to make a decision including proof of postage of the defective phone back to the supplier. Different banks might handle things differently.

Credit card isn't always a bank either but point taken.

HSBC were exemplary when Ford tried to diddle me with a downpayment on a car and moved the goalposts.

Mine was all verbal. Job done.

Strange that this phone is 10g heavier and a bit larger in dimensions with a bigger chin than the vanilla redmi note 8 when the only difference in specs seems to be nfc support in the 8t. I can't see why this would make a significant weight/dimensions difference. Anyone got any ideas?

I had a Redmi note 3 with band 20 which was slightly longer. Just more chips/parts/circuitry needed for the NFC I guess

I guess you must be right. Surprised me a bit though. Sounds like the old redmi note issue of having to be careful when you buy a case will come into play here!

dimensions/weight on the 8 and the 8t are identical on eglobalcentraluk. which website did you compare them on?

Got one arriving today, got it off the ebay deal yesterday for an uncle. Will set it up this evening and have a play
I know it's my own deal but I'm holding out for as long as possible on this deal to see if they introduce a white or blue version, which look very cool. The white A3 I have here is very nice

Yeah they're defo coming, they are on Xiaomi UK's site too. But eglobal are only selling the grey and everywhere else is far more expensive for the 8t for some reason.
it doesnt state that it comes with a case which is essential for me, looking on ebay and theres very little available for it particularly if the dimensions are different to the note 8. their website has a q&a section but no means to ask a question!

anyone know how to ask a question?

I looked on gsmarena and xiaomi's own site. Both show the 8 and 8t have different weights and dimensions. You can also see on pictures that the 8t has a larger chin. I was confused too as I had initially only seen mention that they are identical except for nfc.

Have a look at the unboxings on YouTube. There is a free you case in the box. Pretty sure they've done this since before my note 5. And the a3 I just received has a you case too.

I'd be 99% certain it will have one.

Here we go, it comes with a black case

Damn, I couldn't resist. All previous redmi note were bullet proof and had no issues. At this price, it's is a steal. Heat added.
P. S. Got 2 orders before from eglobal, no issues so far, don't expect much on warranty front though. Always use PayPal and cc.

Cases avaiable on Amazon
I don't need NFC, which out of this and the "normal" Redmi Note 8 would be best? Thanks for any help as I have read too many reviews and got overwhelmed.

Still thinking this or A3.. what do you think? How's the camera on A3?

Haven't tried the camera afraid as for a family member. Quick comparison of the specs basically is A3 gives you android one updates / no bloat but you lose s reen resolution. Note 8t gives NFC, s reen resolution and an additional macro lens.

Depends what's most important to you

For me I'd go this unless you could get 30 quid off the normal. You might not need now but may do in the future
Thanks so much, it's a good point about future-proofing myself.

After (yet more) Googling it seems that's the only difference and then there is also the Pro which doesn't have NFC and also has a Mediatek Processor and a betetr screen. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Yep that's right. Unless you game on your phone I'd say the pro isn't worth the extra cash.

The Pro does have NFC. It also has a different design, bigger battery, and different camera set up. It's really a totally different phone whereas the 8/8t have much more in common
Nice price. Three is supposed to be selling these for £169.99 in 2 weeks time so a nice saving here compared to UK seller.

Yeah I found that online also. Bear in mind that the 8t starts at a 3gb/32gb version and so my likely bet is that's what £170 will get you at three.

Apparently the cheapest version sold officially in UK is going to be 4/ 64GB. We shall see in a couple of weeks
