Same phone is £139.00 at the mo if you're willing to take a chance on Xiaomi UK.

I can't add a link as they're on the HUKD naughty step but they delivered my Redmi Note 8 Pro no problem.

This doesn't but the normal note 8 does (no NFC though) and the 8 Pro does. I think the note 9s, and 9 pro, do have one but the normal note 9 doesn't.......it's not confusing is it!?!?

I still can't believe I got my 8 pro with a Mi band 4 for £1 less than that, from there at Easter (mind you, had to wait a couple of weeks, but have heard others since getting their phones in days).

I can't find it now, but I thought I read on another thread that they may have another sale on from Monday, but I may be wrong!

AFAIK they have dropped that French courier with the tea leaves who delivered from the factory to DHL in the UK and DHL are picking up from the French warehouse and delivering now. Certainly my son's Redmi Note 8 Pro arrived (via DHL) in just a couple of days from ordering.

Any drawbacks other than cheap plastic build?
It seems excellent value for money.
Also anyone knows if it comes with 18w charger or something slower?
Oh and it states splash proof. Does it actually have any ratings?

Battery life
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T, just like all Notes to come before it, is powered by a 4,000mAh Li-ion battery. It supports Qualcomm's 18W Quick Charge and the 8T ships with a proper 18W charger. It fills about 45% of the entirely depleted battery in 30 mins.

PS Only the frame is plastic

Glass front (Gorilla Glass 5), glass back (Gorilla Glass 5), plastic frame. In my (pretty extensive) experience of Redmi Notes over the years one thing that can't be labelled at them is cheap looking build quality. Very well built and IME ultra reliable (my wife refuses point blank to let me replace her 3 years old next month redmi Note 4, which incidentally still has 2 day battery life (not a gamer apart from Words With Friends lol but never off social media!).

Do any of the new Xiaomi phones come with notification lights in different colours eg. like Redmi Note 4 has 4 different colours.

Yes, they changed back in March, I believe.

Switchyyyyyyy. New note 9 pro opened and was wondering why the eBay app is not the same as the note9s? The layout is slightly modified. I can send screen shots.
Great phone picked one up from Aliexpress for £125 about a month ago
how does this compare to a galaxy s8? Im needing to replace now as its taken a beating. Wondering if its similar performance etc?

They have a lot in common. What sets them apart is OS (do you prefer clean android or miui), cameras ("action camera" on Moto Vs wide angle lens on note), dedicated 2+1 card slot on note and the look/build. I'd go for Xiaomi , personally.

I think it's pretty rare in general now to find any phones released with a multi-coloured notification light unfortunately.

I'm v happy with my 8 Pro too. Also I'm pretty sure the OTA Android 10 update which came through a few days ago has cured the weird random rebooting issue, which is pleasing.
For this sort of money,or even less you can get a note 9s if you can wait a month for delivery,it's a huge generational leap in performance and bigger battery, something to consider.

No rebooting here
Can anyone recommend a good case for this? I have Otterbox cases on my family's phones and would like something similar if possible. TIA

Many people seem to have problem with Bluetooth slowing down the WiFi. It hasn't been fixed yet. Check on mi board. This is the only reason that's stopping me from buying this phone as I spent most of my time at work on bt earbuds using WiFi

Yes, my wife's got the 8 Note Pro and there is only the one white light for all notifications.

I think I will continue using my current mobile and keep enjoying the colour notifications till it lasts.

They died and became extinct along with the dinosaurs 😞
Been looking at phones around this price for a while now and took the plunge for a Xiaomi Note 9 pro at £177 with code on Ali Express, I know it's 20-40 days for delivery but worth the wait I think at this price
