Check the returns procedure, always take out the insurance option, pay by credit card, or if not that at least PayPal, expect a long wait, expect no support or warranty with grey import purchases, these phones are cheap for a reason.

Bought from Amazon Spain last week for 235euro, couldn't handle the shipping minefield from Asian providers.

Fair enough
"always take insurance"
Is that new advice....I have always taken the bare minimum in the past from the likes of GB and eGlobal

It's always going to be a personal decision as to how much you believe a warranty and more reliable/quicker delivery service is worth at the end of the day. But it's great for people to have the choice.

Me too, but with the eglobal situation on here currently, I thought it best to advise to cover yourself for most eventualities

I've never added insurance when buying from Gearbest or Banggood... but my last phone was stolen by the UK delivery guy... So, in my experience, the risk isn't with the Asian side of the delivery, but with the UK side. As a result, I will now always add insurance when buying an expensive item.

You won't need the insurance, until you do...

What would they be? Sorry looking for a new phone and unclear what features are good/bad. Saw the other 8t deal with mi band and confused between the two

I've also just noted this change in all the phone posts. Wish these warnings were put out there earlier. I can say from my own experience with eglobal that you're better off with any other seller. Generally the savings you get from buying from Asia need to be carefully considered against the often very long shipping times and random disappearance of parcels

Apologies for not doing it sooner, promise from this point forward it will be made clear, unless I forget to add it in, as sometimes my brain gets a little frazzled
i looked a week or so ago on Ali Express at this phone and was around the £150 mark most places. aliexpress.com/ite…tml so don't think this is much of an 'offer' - but does seem to be a lot of phone for the price

Higher chance of customs at Aliexpress, so compared to that this is an "offer"

I got this phone from Amazon last week and have to say I'm very disappointed with it...I thought this would be much better than the non pro version. The camera is mediocre to say the least and I'm finding it extremely laggy especially with banking apps. Sometimes the screen and keyboard don't respond at all. No different after several factory resets so it'll be going back. I like Xiaomi phones but this is unlike any other I've owned. Maybe I was just unlucky and got a defective phone but I just wouldn't recommend this with my day to day experience unfortunately 😔

I loved the 5 when I owned it and never had an issue with it so was expecting great things from this considering how far down the line we are from then .. I think they've made a mistake with the Mediatek chip in this
