Xiaomi SJYT01FM smartphone Gimbal £53.51 @ Gearbest

I've been looking out for a gimbal now that I've more or less lost the use of my left arm. I had been looking at DJI and Zhiyun models, both around the £100 mark, but then I saw this model on flash sale at Gearbest. It costs £95 on Banggood so this seems to be a bargain.

It has all the features found in most other gimbals worth their salt; time lapse, 360 degree shooting, slo-mo, smart tracking etc. It is equipped with a 5000mah battery with 16hr standby. It is the international version so should come with English language instructions and app.

I know this will probably get slaughtered just for being Gearbest but I hope a few open-minded people will see this for the good deal it is.

Voted hot mate. But if your looking for a zhiyun smooth have a look on ebay as I got what was called a seller refurbished one that seemed brand new to me for £49.99. I think they are down to £47.99 now. But this is a good price...does it come with a tripod?

Thanks for the info. It looks like both have their good and bad points. No, the Xiaomi doesn't come with a tripod (I think) but it has a standard mount socket and given desktop tripods can be had for less than a fiver its not a game changer for me.

Hey they are good but I was thinking about getting a micro microphone and also a lead to charge my phone from the socket on the side of the gimbal. But as the phone sits into the gimbal there is no way you can get to the microphone jack or the charging socket to your phone if anyone is reading this and knows how this can be achieved...your reply would be most welcome

Can't the phone be placed in the gimbal in portrait mode to allow access to the usb port?

No the phone can only go in one way and it leaves it at the bottom....if you put the phone in with the usb at the top the clamps hits the side buttons on your phone. It's got me baffled.

Is that on the Zhiyun, Xiaomi or both.

Looking at the design of the Xiaomi it seems both. Don't get me wrong they are great but it seems a mad design flaw as there is plenty of places eager to sell leads to fit both. Or I'm too thick to work it out

I've been looking at reviews of both gimbals and charging/usb power while shooting is mentioned as a feature on both. But it's the lack of usb-a connection on the Xiaomi which seems to be creating headaches, not how the phone sits on the gimbal.

I've sorted the power lead out....there is one designed for the gimbal that hardly has a base so should fit fine. It's around £6.50 on ebay.
Tried a headphone jack in the phone and it works. So ordered the lead and a microphone,a bracket and a led light ..all for around 38 quid but it turns it into a serious bit of kit
Cushty. Could you send me a link to the cable?
