I think slightly better price than the previous deal.
As far as I understand from description, this comes with 2 sensors. One for window set , one for door set. So it works out £3.35 each.
Ordered 2.

Please see the previous discussion.

No that is a two piece sensor pack. The bigger piece being the sensor and the smaller piece the magnet. Still cracking value especially if you are a Smartthings user who doesn't want to pay around £25 for the official sensors.

whats the difference between this one and the one from the previous deal (apart from the shape)?

I can’t see where it says 2. Looks like just one to me.

In the description, it says:

Package Contents: 1 x Xiaomi Smart Door Sensor, 1 x Xiaomi Smart Window Sensor

This led me think it's 2 pair.

The door and window sensor is the same thing. I think this is an error.

yeah, it may be the case. I guess I'll wait and see

One piece goes on the frame of the foor/window and the other on the doir/window.

So when one sensor senses movement from the other then it will do what you've programmed it to do.

That's what I understand. I stand to be corrected.

This is the older 1st generation set = one door/window + one door frame/window frame part, one sensor in total.
The 1st gen Xiaomi sensors are a rounded shape - the thermometer, push button, door sensor, the 2nd gen are more square.

ok, the better 2nd gen version is 77p cheaper at the moment gearbest.com/acc…tml

if the newer one is better and cheaper you might as well go for the one mcek recommends. These are the ones I bought last week.

I bought two of the newer ones a few days ago for £4.58. Went back for a third and they'd gone back up.

The prices do change quite often, eg, a promotion ends, then starts again 2 days later. Also the exchange rate affects the pricing.

Is range really limited to 7m? I was thinking about using it as an alarm for my garage. My wifi can reach there, but it's way more than 7m (more like 50m)

AFAIK these will be zigbee with a hub not wifi - one of their's according to the info on the newer version These things might mesh but I would stick to < 10m myself

It's safe to keep them under 10m, compromise of low power, long battery life, wifi signal from the sensor.
I have my hub in the centre of the house.
If you need a longer range, a previous post fro cheap Zwave sensors from Foniacs on ebay
hotukdeals.com/dea…567
They also sold a very cheap Zwave usb dongle to connect to a pc to run your own home automation software, but their zwave door sensor would connect to Samsung Smartthings too.
I have Zwave for longer distance, keep an eye on the garden gates and shed.
Zwave is a different radio protocol to Zigbee.

If you want to give yourself a really flexible system, but with some tinkering around, a home automation setup on a pc is the way, you can get a Zigbee usb dongle to work with the xiaomi sensors.
The hub will do if you don't want Alexa.
But I believe the new Echo Plus will work, and people like shouting at it.

Customer service has just responded. They say that it comes with 2 pairs.

Anyone has this installed and has problems?

Basically have 2 on front and back door. Set it to play an alarm between 12:00/06:00 if door opens. Back door one works fine but front door goes off at anytime you open. Reset more then once, changed names but still happens the same .

Any ideas ?
