Thanks!
Afraid not but if you order these you can have 2 X 5m LED strips for £23.17, controllable via Alexa and GH, use IFTTT for Smartthings. Bosh.
m.gearbest.com/led…=21 - £6.83
m.gearbest.com/cha…=21 - £2.35
amazon.co.uk/gp/…_t2 - £13.99
i prefer these to the Smartthings one i bought im in the process in changing them all too Xiaomi ones
Intereseted in these (and the motions sensor), but not entirely sure how it they work (and what is needed). Can anyone link to a dummies guide? I've obviously read the product descriptions on gearbest, but they're not the clearest (and I assume some of it is lost in translation).
Hi there, do it use it with a xiaomi hub or ST hub? If so, which DH did you use? Been trying to get the lux working but not much luck...
Xiaomi Gateway does not work with GH or Alexa, so it will have to be the Samsung SmartThings gateway
using with smartthings with this device handler lux works fine for me
That’s if you require it to work with Gh or Alexa

Are you able to get all the I do from Xiaomi sensors via the ST hub Vs the Xiaomi hub? Including things like battery life?
Also with ST can this do things like turn on a specific light if it detects motion? Or actions based off the temp/humidity level from those sensors? Or ask Google home what temp it is in a certain room?
I'm really trying to find out if it's work switching to a smart things hub.
see image above you can see battery life and other bits of information, not tried doing doing automation in smartthings as i do them in Home Assistant nor have i linked my Amazon account but can try that when i get home
Thanks
It's the Zigbee Aqara ones I'm after here.
Any particular reason why? The others are ZigBee and perform exactly like the aqara when linked with ST.
Didn't realise they were zigbee. I already have the Aqara ones and would like to keep the same type (I think lol)
Yes you can do automations in SmartThings as you have mentioned. However, like PSP91 I am also using HASS to monitor SmartThings using the MQTT Bridge SmartApp. I personally am using SmartThings just as bridge that connects to the Z-Wave / ZigBee devices and then sends MQTT messages to Home Assistant on the WiFi.
Thanks - I am tempted but have no idea where I would put them
Got door sensors for less than £6 each today. Search Xiaomi on HotUKDeals
Thanks for confirming. So if I want to use these with OpenHAB can I just stick with the Xiaomi gateway?Or would it be better to get a smart things gateway?
I have not tried OpenHAB yet. With the Smartthings MQTT bridge (Smartapp) github.com/stj…dge it converts all conected devices into MQTT messages and sends them onto an MQTT broker. The MQTT broker can be used in OpenHAB or as I use, Home Assistant. The plus for OpenHAB is the nice mobile App that is sadly missing for Home Assistant.
So in answer to your question if OpenHAB supports the Xiaomi gateway directly then there is no need for SmartThings. Just bear in mind that you can do so much more with SmartThings and apparently then I jesting internally ZigBee v3.0 which should roll out to the general public as a software upgrade.
I set my smartthings to armed. I' walking in front of the sensors but smartthings not alerting me. What am I doing wrong? The battery also states 0% but on smartthings it shows all connected.
