Hmm can anyone suggest any alternatives that use aaa or similar? Don't want to be stocking up in 2032s..
"Baby mode" requires the Mijia Bluetooth Gateway, AliExpress says.

How useful/functional would this be without a Gateway? For example - Can you retrieve temp/humidity values from those times your phone was out of Bluetooth range?
Do you need their gateway, or can you get other ones to recognise them? I currently just have a hive for the heating, and a few plug sockets on kasa but TBH they were only needed at xmas.

I'm guessing most will have already realized this - but the coronavirus probably won't survive outside the human body for the time it takes a package to reach you. It's not impossible just unlikely.

I've got these and can confirm that just with the xiaomi home app you can drag up 6 months of historical data, hourly data points for the last 24 hours and daily min and max readings for temp and humidity. I wanted to keep an eye on humidity/mould issue. I have to be in the same room as the device to sync so the range is not great. You need to set your region to china in the xiaomi home app to be a able to add this device.

However, it is important to beware the snot...

So if my order has free banknotes it's a trap.

But thanks for the info, I suspected it might be theoretically possible depending on the virus/materials/conditions.
Do you need a gateway with this or can work as a thermometer without other technology involved, thanks!
UZOR (above post) said it can be used without a hub and with just the phone app you can store 6 months worth of data

Please correct me if I am wrong!
Do all xiaomi hub versions support Bluetooth?
Hoping somebody can help… I bought this but I can't get it to connect via Bluetooth to the app. The bluetooth icon isn't on the LCD screen and I've no idea how to reset it, even though there's a bit of text near the battery that says "Reset"!
