Put outdoors to find out if it's raining during an eclipse of the sun.

Put behind washing machine, dishwasher under sink etc to warm leaks/floods. Hang on a bit of string at the right length to warn when bath full.

Seriously wtf is this actually used for? Need a reason to buy it lol

When you wet the bed in your sleep after a night of boozing. You will get alert that you've wet the bed.

Yes you can. You can even set it up so it's integrated in to Google home. I've got mine set up so when I say "hey Google, did it rain last night?" It gives me a daily briefing of how many litres per second I put out the following night. Very useful feature

OP, how is this not a waste of money if you don't even know what it does?

hello. from where you guys get the discount codes for xiaomi products.. banggood gearbest..

Put outdoors to find out if it's raining during an eclipse of the sun.

Handy if you have cellar/outbuildings prone to flooding.

Purpose: If your in the boozer, it will ping your phone to tell you, your house is flooded and to row home immediately.

should of put glitch in the title with that price drop

I love my xiaomi products but I have no use for this 😁

But this is HUKD so still tempted to buy it at that price

What the hell???

I been watching this for sometime now. Great bargain. I bought the ST water leak sensor for £17.99, which is enough to buy 2 of these at this price. I have now ordered 2, heat

I have so much stupid water around the place that this would never have anything to detect. Heated. Yup, I'm in hot water now.

No need, my misses would alert me to this this more quickly and more reliably than any machine can.

Most stories i've heard about pee related accidents after getting drunk, were the pee in the wardrobe kind.

Only heard soiled bed once, and that was no. 2

So maybe, hang it in the wardrobe?

Ahh but this machine would tell you how many litres we put out and at what temperature. It's useful if you want to create a nice graph on excel to look back on

Handy if you have a cellar that is prone to flooding. Not many people have cellars in this country though.

Could be useful if you've got an elderly relative with dementia who might leave a bath or sink overflowing/

Hang one in your boxers just to be safe. And maybe place one under the sheet.

Lets hope Xiaomi invent no2 sensors in the mean time!

Use this to tell which of the ladies in your harem is moist

It's one gadget too far when you don't actually know what you'd do with it :-)

Not that I'm not tempted regardless......

This is probably no more useful than a chocolate teapot

Bought the fibaro flood sensors last month. They cost 45+. These are a bargain at 8.75. thanks for sharing

I reckon it's a good girlfriend replacement for £8...

Would this work in a water tank for a caravan/campervan for example?

but is it waterproof ?

What exactly do you want to use it for? Its ideal for leaks/flooding alert.
The sensor has metal contacts at the base. When its in water the circuit is complete and it alarms out.

Nice to see a code that works on more than a single unit, confirmed the discount on 2 units.

Tie it around you neck and it will notify you if you dribble

As a level indicator though I suppose it only alarms when submerged. I'd like to place it inside a water tank and be remotely notefied when dry but doubt this will be able to do that and not gonna take the risk as I've no other need for this (though I want one )

Cheaper on banggood at the moment

sorry teacher ... idiot

Every now and again when filling the sink to soak something I haven't quite turned the tap off. Living in a first floor flat as I do the resultant deluge has meant panic stations in my flat and the flat below. Fortunately I was able to source a device very similar to this one which I can place on the work top or draining board next to the sink and it has saved my bacon more than once and saved all the mopping up and apologising afterwards. Small investment for peace of mind.

I think you would be able to do that using Smartthings and webCoRE. There's a great video here about webCoRE and how to use it. It would take a little bit of work but should be possible.

Someone has made a device handler to support this sensor using Smartthings.
