Work with IFTTT - brings everything together
If This Then That ( or IFTTT ) is both a website and a mobile app that launched in 2010 and has the slogan "Put the Internet to work for you". The idea is that you use IFTTT to automate everything from your favourite Apps and websites to App-enabled accessories and smart devices. IFTT has become the ultimate automation service for small tasks between Internet-connected services. Whether on the Web or with selected Apps on iOS and Android, IFTTT can handle anything its member service "channels" support. When user-specified events occur, follow-up tasks are triggered and handled.
There are numerous combinations ( also called "recipes" ) on IFTTT that can make your life easier. These links consist of just two elements: a Trigger ( If This ) and an Action ( Then That ) – For example, If you own a Xiaomi smart light, you could use IFTTT to automatically turn on the light every time you're tagged in a Facebook photo. In another example, you could set your light to be turned on, if motion is detected in your home when you're not at home.

The product has passed Alexa certification and could be voice controlled by Amazon Echo

I've got 6 of these in my house they're great. I got them previously from here for around £8 each when they've been on offer. 1 touch of a button and my house looks like a redlight district

I think I'm going to wait for a good offer on this one

1st or 2nd gen?
This isn't bad but after a while mine would stop working. For some reason it has to connect to a 2.4ghz wireless connection and even though my router is dual band it would work for a few days and then just stop connecting for no apparent reason.

They only have 2.4ghz built in, probably because the range is better on that frequency.

I had this problem with my old vm superhub 2ac, I found upping the DHCP lease time to it's maximum helped.

I've not had any problems with my new router though.

Ha funny cause I never had a problem with my superhub until I switched it out for the TP-Link AC3150. Not sure what the issue is really but having to use it as a standard light for now.
All my other smart bulbs seem to work fine on the network it's just this one that has the issues

EDIT:Just managed to fix the problem for now. Changed my 2.4 net to a set channel and it connected at the first try. Hopefully it stays like this now

probably cos your getting a lot of intefence. try changing channel. 2.4 is a pretty useless frequency nowdays and majority of these chinese smart products use 2.4, in fact smart products in general.

My Hive stuff uses the 5g I think? Although I have never had any issues with the Hive bulbs.

I edited my last comment and changed my 2.4 channel to one that is set and it has seemed to work for now. Set up a schedule and will see if it works over the next few days. Fingers crossed.

Download WiFi analyser (err think that's how u spell it) and you can who's interfering with who should you get further issues.
They need to start doing an E14 SES!
Only real change I can see is that the output has been increased from 600 lumen to 800. But that is max on white. Colours will be less.

They are meant to be 20% brighter, use less power in standby mode and have some kind of light changing to music feature.... i think

Same here. They are brilliant bulbs. Work pretty well with Alexa too. Great in Music Mode. Disco Lights in sync with the music playing in the house at the touch of a button on the App
Great price but it's not likely to be bright enough for regular lighting, if it's the only light fitting in a room. 600lm is nowhere near enough, 800lm is adequate but not great (although it will depend on what the colour temperature is).
I bought a few years ago but the novelty wears off and Wi-Fi connection can be sketchy. Smart lighting has improved massively. I prefer ZigBee lights that work with SmartThings / Hue etc. Ikea does a whole range (Tradfri) with the cheapest E27 at £9 and the most expensive (colour) at £35 including a remote. Plus if they break, you take them back locally...
Just for balance I have had 2 of these working with Alexa for coming up 1 year and they haven't missed a beat. Bought quite a few for friends and family and no complaints yet!? Cheers Si
Got three of these and they work flawlessly. Work with Alexa too.
its been a bit cheaper before but it's not been anywhere near as low as this for a while. i have a bunch of them. one did fail on me though, so an expensive failure. i'm looking for a spare to quickly replace if any of mine go. it's great when you finally get it working properly with alexa and name the bulbs something alexa doesn't get confused with, like spots and sports. being able to lie in bed in pitch dark and tell alexa to turn the lights on is pretty cool
Just ordered on a new account and it went through at...

Try turning it off at switch for 3seconds then on for 3 seconds. Repeat 5 Times which resets the bulb to factory settings. You will know it’s reset as it starts glowing different colours. Make sure you delete it from the app then go through the finding and in App set up process.
Hi Smag. Yep that was one of the first things I tried. Bulbs reset ok but not responding to Alexa commands as before. Wonder if its the server choice or the Alexa skills.

Why are smart bulbs always screw fitting, when ceiling pendants only hold bayonet bulbs?
Been using these since september and they have been brilliant. However, we had a power surge and one of them stopped working. Now I am not sure whether it was that which killed the light as the others remained fine but I contacted gearbest and they have sent me out another one to replace it.
