I have about £500 worth of Philips Hue stuff, but I will always come back to these bulbs if I generally want a light that I know I won't need the extra functionality.

I have two in my bedroom, and the last time a deal like this came up, I bought four more. They were still boxed and unopened while I wait to purchase a house, so I gave two to my Mrs and she's got one in her living room and one in her bedroom.

Each time a deal like this pops up I promise myself I'll buy two more bulbs until I have enough to kit a house out. It doesn't matter if the fittings are Edison, you can get a Bayonet converter for < £2.

I saw somewhere that someone was advising to use the Singapore server - I would say don't, as they've just opened up the US server which should have additional functionality. I have yet to make the change, but, that's the message from within the app if you login to the Singapore server.

Connect these to Alexa and you've got a very good piece of kit. The sunset/sunrise functions with IFTTT are fantastic. IFTTT turns the two bedroom bulbs on 15 minutes before my alarm and the Yeelight scene gradually increases the brightness until the alarm goes off. It's the same as the Philips Hue wake-up bulbs but at 1/5 of the price.

To be fair, you can pay an extra 39p for Priority Line shipping, which should get it to you significantly quicker than the free, untracked option.
Code doesn’t work for me.
Code actually makes this more expensive.

Thanks - will try Singapore server. One more thing is you can’t control these bulbs when on 3G (away from home) or perhaps it may be due to me being in China server. Pls let me know your view

Code makes it more expensive for me, too. Logged in and everything. Have ordered this multiple times before at a discounted price point similar to this from my account, but doubt past orders make a difference.

Code still working for me. Love these bulbs, I think I've got about 4 or 5 of them now and they work great
Is there a need for a hub? Do they work with Philips hue hub?

I had similar issue with codes not working after I mistakenly logged into Gearbest using a non-UK VPN, after which my account believed I was no longer located in the UK and rejected any UK codes. Gearbest customer care had no clue, but my account eventually sorted itself out after a couple of months!

Connect the bulb in the app again. It will work with Alexa / Google Assistant if you do this (I literally had the same issue yesterday).Do not use "Mi Home" app

Thanks
Got a couple of these recently - one for me and one as a Christmas gift because I was so impressed with it. As mentioned, if you pay the 50-odd pence delivery, you should get it in around 5 days.

Got my home one working in minutes with the Yeelight app, and also with Alexa, but had to install a skill via the Alexa app and voice only seems to be able to turn it on and off, not change colours or brightness. Might just be me being crap!

I had an absolute nightmare getting my friends working in her home on Christmas Day. Tried all of the suggestions I could find via Google (including changing servers etc), but the only way I got it to work in the end was to disable the firewall on her Vodafone broadband router - just in case you have one of these.

Great bulbs - tempted to buy a house full at this price
At that price, I'm happy to join the world of smart bulbs. Ta!
I tried ordering these on deal and never seem to be quick enough. Eventually I gave up bought some lombex bulbs from Amazon for 15 quid each. Work just as well (I've done comparisons) and have a bayonet fitting.
Darn. Doesn't work for me either

Vodafone firewall doesn't need to be off, mine remains on and there's no problems there. Sounds like something went wrong along the way but if you want to reset the bulbs and go through the motions, we could probably fix the issues.

Colour changing works via Alexa, you just tell it "alexa, turn [room] [colour]" and it'll work. If it doesn't work it's because some final steps weren't done, for example, creating and assigning lights to a room.

I find scenes to be quite troublesome but colours and brightness are fine. Try to tell Alexa to "turn the [room] brightness to 10%" and watch the magic happen.

do these work with dimmer switches

what are the key phrases for alexa?

When you give the bulb a name - e.g. "lights" you can say "turn lights on" (or off).

To change the colour or dim you say "alexa set lights red" or whatever other command you want - "set lights 50%", "set lights warm)

Always use "set......" apart from when just switching on or off through alexa.

These lights are fantastic value for the money.

ETA

I have 4 bulbs named
lights (main room)
dining room
stairs
bedroom

I have put them in a group named "everything"

I can turn them all on or off though alexa using "everthing" and I can adjust each one individually using it's name = "alexa set lights warm"

I've used these bulbs with a dimmer switch, however the switch needs to be on 100% power for the bulb to work. The dimming is all controlled via the app. So in a sense they do work, but don't dim through your standard wall switch.

If you use the US server, the bulb will never show up on the alexa / google assistant. Its not really an option, its mandatory at this moment.---These bulbs are really good if you enable LAN/DEVELOPER MODE and use the famous platform "Home Assistant.io" to control them (this does not go through any server, its a direct connection to the bulb).

forum.yeelight.com/t/y…630

Also install the Yeelight skill as suggested by others.
You will probably need to install the Yeelight app to connect it in the first place. I can change the colour and brightness and switch it on and off through Alexa - not really got to grips with anything more complex yet.

see my post above for some examples.

One of my bulbs was on a dimmer switch which I left always on at full power. However after a while the bulb started flickering and not responding. I changed it to a normal switch (always on) and it worked fine - and of course dimmable by command or through the app.

Free delivery is an option, but I'd strongly recommend spending the extra 39p for Priority Line shipping; it'll cut your delivery time from several weeks to probably less than a fortnight.
Would happily pay the 39p if the code actually worked
Got one of these and gets pretty hot in use. Aint that cool on stand by either.
