Have been very impressed with the Yeelight LED strip I picked up just before Christmas and had been eyeing this for upstairs.

Note that this is the revised version which works with Google Home/Alexa.

My lightstrip has performed flawlessly with Google Home so expect this to work just as well.

Looks good to me am tempted.
I have philips side light / alarm. Its far better because it does colours, wakes you up with different colours as well as alarm, nature or radio. This is just a coloured side light. I also have yeelight, strips and light bulbs but sorry this has no use
Oooo I have been equally as impressed with my yeelight bulbs purchased before christmas. My light strip arrived yesterday and I can't wait to set it up. I'm so tempted by this. Heat

That's where the Google Home or Alexa integration comes in. You should be able to get this simulate a sunrise on a schedule. The only thing your philips side light has over this is a speaker, but then does your philips thing have wifi and assistant support?

Yeelight app has sunrise/sunset scene presets and the ability to set timers/schedules. I have my lightstrip behind the TV set to sunrise for when I come downstairs in the morning.

I do hope that's sarcasm

Xiaomi yeelights are fantastic and have alarm features to simulate sunrise sunset etc, very customisable and in my opinion better quality control than any Philips product I have had, several of their phone dock alarms all failed within 6 months and Philip's customer service basically said shit happens. Wouldn't honour any repair or replacement as it was a discontinued item. Couldn't be bothered fighting them on it but Honestly wouldn't touch Philips stuff.

Xioami I didn't expect much from given the price yet i have been genuinely surprised just how well it works and their overall construction.

Even bagged myself a free hive bulb kit over December. Compared to the yeelight bulbs, I would take the yeelight every time. Hive you can't group bulbs together, they are expensive and you need a hub but there is still a delay of a few seconds from hitting off and the bulb reacting. While the yeelight have the same delay the app is so much better and can control multiple bulbs grouped together in the app and no hub needed plus for an RGB bulb, only about £11

Anyway if you needed a beside connected lamp, I would seriously consider the yeelight. Check out the YouTube reviews and just buy a decent wall adapter for £1 from Tesco or Asda

Interesting comments, thanks.

Not needing a hub and price were what attracted me to the Yeelight system.

And yeah, Xiaomi quality really should have the likes of Philips worried, it's excellent.

Yes it was sarcastic to the comment I quoted.

It's not like they are South Korean devices
These are a great lamp.

I got one for my 9 year old - when he falls asleep it receives a signal from his Mi Band 2 and the lamp switches off. He has set up the buttons on top to give him perfect easy to use options like reading or early morning.
