I have got the 1st Gen for a while, they are working great. So the 2nd should be better.
£15.49 for a smart RGB light bulbs is much cheaper then Philip Hue. It also need no hub to make it work.

So if anyone looking for differences
Thsi one git more lumens 800 from 600
And standby power consumption is less
Also some listings on aliexpress claim an 80,000 hours life

Same. It is almost double the price of the 1st generation bulbs.
Hopefully it comes down after few more weeks.

I have a Xiaomi Aqara Zigbee button (found it on here for ~£5 a while ago) which I plan to hook up to my Samsung Smartthings and have it "synced" to my Home Assistant. Sounds like a pain, and tbh it is. I think it'll be worth it though to prove the concept of pressing one button to turn off all my stuff as I go to bed including lights.

I'd love to get into home assistant but its too complicated for me.

it is for me too tbh. It's such a shame as it's on the verge of being a brilliant product but the learning curve is way too steep to be adopted en masse.

For instance the thing i'm currently stuck on is passing events from my Samsung Smartthings Hub (which is a Zigbee and Zwave radio receiver) to Home Assistant. You have to create something called an MQTT server, an MQTT broker and then write the configuration code inside Home Assistant to reference the Smartthings items. I think I've done the MQTT server and broker bit, but then failed at the final hurdle
