**Edit 23rd January - I wonder if these specs are correct or have changed since the time of the review sample from JOMW below, because my watch actually DOES hack!!

Finding real-world images of this watch is a challenge (unless I'm not using the correct search terms! so here's a few screengrabs from the above review):3156053.jpg3156053.jpg3156053.jpgThis Xiaomi youpin/TwentySeventeen (if that's the name of this model) Automatic Watch is not identical to - but definitely "inspired by" - the much-loved Seiko Cocktail Time.

Edit: Seems I got that wrong, it's actually a "homage" of the Rado Coupole Classic (thanks to Domoz on WUS - here!)3156053.jpg

Nice. I saw the JOMW review of this and thought it was decent for, what was it, $100 dollars? At this price it looks really good. GAH! So many watches and not enough wrists!! I've still got one watch hiding from ma bidey, in its packaging and I'm picking that cheapo Sekonda up to tomorrow. Really can't justify this right now...I'm so weak.

Never heard of Luxer Watches (?) and you've linked to the same watch twice (?). Can't say the aesthetics float my boat, either. Nothing wrong with Pulsar, of course, but it's Quartz and Mineral Crystal, so hardly like-for-like. Though kc_basepair has said the same (I've just noticed).

821A is 8215 in a pretty dress.
Very tempted. They both look great.

What a random post. Not even close to being like for like so genuienly don't see the point?
And they've even gone for an almost clear watch face, instead of it saying "automatic super waterproof timely super time" or whatever the cheap Chinese watches usually say. I have to say, that looks really nice.
It's £51.40 now.
Quidco cashback £2.48.
Final price : £48.92
Not bad.

Now,... (it will be tricky but,) I will have to convince my other half about necessity of this purchase.
What's the situation with duty and VAT from these sellers ??

I think for that money I'd chance a used Seiko or Orient mako on eBay, there are definitely some bargains to be had! Also although quartz the Casio mdv106 is a great watch.

£76 for 9015, that’d probably only fetch 7s26 in Seiko land.

True but the cases, options for upgrades and mods is an awesome rabbit hole! It's shocking to see the price difference between this and the time factors Smith's Everest which I've been eyeing up.
Really good watch with a top notch Miyota movement, 9015 high beat would be better but 8215 is still good.
Didn't need another watch, bought it anyway (had also previously seen on JOMW)
It looks Rather nice for a cheap watch.

The Everest is a fantastic buy. Excellent value and solid resale if you so choose.
I didn't bother trying to put this in my Basket till now, but there's a coupon you can apply too, which takes it to £49.20 for the Black option (at the moment, anyway), the discount is deducted on the payment screen.36737349-nXBpM.jpgSelect your coupon from the Aliexpress listing (got the red pen out!)36737349-L1Ibp.jpg

You could get it for £46.78 being a new user.
If Quidco pays it’ll be £44.37

(Woops, commented on the Dresslily thread - well - it is 2am) Guys and girls, this offer has approximately two days left if you're on the fence
Black is showing as £49.92 today (currency fluctuations), before vouchers.

As I'm already a customer, with the coupon my total is £48.33 (Black option).

Not sure if the watch in the Deal post is part of the Xiaomi CIGA Design range (from the packaging I've seen - don't think so). But I like this CIGA (Quartz) "Time Machine":36771884-fUj5H.jpg

17 hours left! Ends around 7.30am UK time on the 9th January - though - some Aliexpress vendors extend their sale prices.
Edited by: "louiselouise" 8th Jan
Seems I was right, the sale price is still ongoing - Black is now showing as £50.01 today, so it's anyone's guess when the 20% off price actually ends.36783528-luiFB.jpg
Maybe I'm a tad paranoid, but when I get a message from a Chinese seller mentioning some catastrophe, I'm a bit dubious. Just got this message from Amanda Wong:

Hello dear friend, I received a message from my colleague that some of our goods were stolen in warehouse, include the black watches, we have callled police, but we can't confirm whether they will be found back. Now in our warehouse there are still White color and. Do you agree we send white watch to you?I am sorry for bringing you inconvenience. Waiting for your reply. Have an nice day!

Currently the listing still displays Black (the cheaper option) as available for purchase, maybe that will change. Weird!
(Watchuseeker No1VIPER also reported back today that he got the same message from Amanda Wong). My White option has been shipped today, too.

Domoz left a good review of this on Watchuseek earlier:

I received my white (actually silver) dial "twentyseventeen W001M" this morning. Ordered on the 2nd of this month, 9 days for its travel to France, that's nice (and in fact it's 8 days because I missed my postman yesterday).
I was looking at this one for some times on Gearbest, finding it a bit expensive. And then you (No1VIPER) posted a message telling everyone that it's cheaper on Ali than I thought X-D

About the watch, it looks really nice, better than photos from everywhere. Without looking it with macro lenses, the dial is just great. Maybe not the easiest to read with silver hands on silver textured dial. Everything is well made, it's heavy, I see no issue on dial, case or back of the watch. For a dress watch it's a bit too large IMO, and also too thick. It might looks better on bigger wrist than mine. Both straps are decent and wear confortable. And a good point, it passed the "Diamond Selector II test": front glass is sapphire (the one on the back is not). I had a doubt when ticking it with nail, it sounds "light", maybe the glass is quite thin. The glass is also more flat than I thought. The box is pretty nice too... but with a stupid sticker inside of it.

I learned two things while looking at comments on a "just one more watch" video
(as in the original Deal post):

1/ It is and "homage" of a Rado Coupole Classic. The comment actually said a "rip off" and... well, without the logo it's indeed the exact same watch.
36801302.jpg2/ Someone says it hacks. Strange statement for a Miyota 821A. I already have a 8215, two 8203 and a 9015. And I gave a look closely to everything on the Miyota's web site: any 8xxx should not hack, any 9xxx will. Before telling you my result: the 821A looks nice, way better than the 8215. And after 2 tests (not fully rewind): it DOES hack !??!!? I will test again later, fully winded, and I don't understand what is going on here but, yes, my watch seems to have the stop second feature. If someone knows something about this, I'm really interested.

Domoz also added real-world pictures here

White is not available for purchase any more on the Aliexpress listing - weird, as MC-TECH store told me that it was Black that was stolen.

My watch was waiting for me (through the letterbox - Royal Mail) when I got home. Yes, it DOES hack.

It's bringing me to Amazfit Bip page on my phone.. Working on PC though, whoops, my bad.
Impressions so far - the milanese strap is different to what I'm used to - secure the clasp, then a clip goes over the top (if that makes sense, probably not!). The leather strap seems comparable to my Seiko Alpinist, stiff, not very comfortable - basically crap, though I expected that. I prefer the steel mesh strap anyway, leather straps seem more insecure (more likely to snap or break off, not that I'll be climbing mountains any time soon!).

Build quality excellent, nicely finished, the "White" (still wish I received the Black ) looks silvery in real life and is a bit of a stunner.

Keeping good time, but you can only really gauge that after a few days, weeks, even!

Obviously this watch isn't very girly, but I like to be different Missing my beloved Guanqin GJ16106, waiting for a deal on that. Just have to ensure I don't drop it this time

There is a more feminine Xiaomi option, but I have a few blingy watches and I find this design trope a bit blah banggood.com/Ori…tml36894732-yNgKU.jpg36894732-r3h1i.jpgThe packaging above also mentions this URL vmizn.com/
