Great spot! absolutely love this feature

The smart doorbell also comes with a feature known as “SafeSound” which when turned on, can change the child’s voice to that of an adult when he or she is responding to the doorbell.

Genius!

I know it's a bit sad but I'm actually excited that Xiaomi seem to be entering the 'Ring market' (and I don't mean those that go on your finger!). The market should get a whole lot more competitive now...

Only thing I would say, as a Xiaomi customer of 8 years, there are 2 categories of product they sell:

Xiaomi owned company products ( mi, mijia, pocophone, black shark etc)

Xiaomi ecological brands (basically companies who Xiaomi work with and sell compatible products through xiaomi) think apple and belkin.

Xiaomi on the most part have always allowed Chinese products to be converted to global versions depending on the language you set in the mi home app, however this has changed since moving to open official sales channels in the rest of the world. Many Chinese handsets are more difficult to convert to the global software and certain products that are never intended for global release won't support English, like the Xiaomi smart speaker, Bluetooth earpiece of airdots all of which only have Chinese language.

I have lots of xiaomi products which only speak Chinese and I'm okay with it on the most part but I think for a ring style doorbell, you need English.

Voted hot btw as a project piece but thought I would give a little history on Xiaomi as many might not know as much about their business model

About time Xiaomi entered the video doorbell market! have a Ring floodlight cam which is brilliant but went cheap Chinese for the video doorbell(9about 30 quid plus batteries) and again works well but nowhere near the back-up/storege of the Ring. Yer pays yer money....but if I didn't already have one Id be all over this. The free cloud storage is a real bonus. Heat added.

Looks like a baby monitor.
You have to order the doorbell separately, so it's just the camera for £40? Or is it included in the price?

Confused :/
This doesn't look like it has a 2 way speaker
It doesn't work below 0 degrees...
Code e2bcea reduces the price by £6

The doorbell is attached with the camera
It doesn't even look like a doorbell and it's not even nice to look at lol

Great spot! OP, you need to amend your deal, this code knocks the price down to just over 34 quid!
Do they have a european server now? You need to have a stable connection for any of the AI to work.

Looks like you can use a Bluetooth speaker as the bell is that right?

Confusing, I agree, but I think it might be referring to extra bells as it can work with up to four simultaneously.

Yeah, seems so, that's a good idea, take it anywhere with you, if you have a mansion, you are sorted.

Then again, if you had a mansion, you could probably afford a ring

It's referring to the fact you can by the doorbell without the chime. If you click on it, it takes you to the listing without the chime. Not 100% sure but I think the chime is required to connect it to WiFi.
From the questions page on Banggood, someone found an article:
gizmochina.com/201…ra/

Looks like there is a speaker and mike. But it's also confusing regards connections- use a bluetooth speaker, but it has 433mhz (normal doorbell to chime radio) and the usual 433mhz connection distance.

Only a matter of time before Xiaomi bring out an appropriately priced floodlight camera that you don't have to buy Mesh WiFi to get it work properly, like the Ring eh?

Yeah, hopefully (Ring floodlight cam owner who subsequently bought a mesh system ). May hold off buying further cams now and wait to see developments. I can imagine Ring/Amazon wouldn't welcome Xiaomi entering the fray as they are big enough to have real credibility in the market and their prices are also going to be considerably cheaper if this doorball is anything to go by. Interesting times....

Looks like an indoor Cctv camera stuck to an outside door. Wake me up when surveillance doorbells look like doorbells.

For other reasons I’ve voted this deal hot
Edited by: "androidavis" 30th Dec 2018
Really would like these to work well. Concerned as others are that they are in Chinese language only.
Hot for the price! Does not look clear if it comes with a chime, but you can use a bluetooth speaker instead anyway. Not sure if you need the chime to set it up. Good price, I found this deal yesterday but did not want to post it, as I was expecting people to vote cold, due to no English language. 2 things are stopping me to get it, 720p and lack of English, however, the price is great and Xiaomi is known for decent quality products.

Stick a thermometer to the outside of your door during a freezing winter, and prepare to be surprised. They may have put this in the specs due to the operating conditions of AA batteries.

I've had a few pre orders from banggood and gearbest, as this and other items are a crowdfunded project they quantities arent always readily available immediately so can take some time, upside is that if your happy to just wait on it shipping then you can get a good reduction in price. I got the defang cameras for £18 each on a preorder and they now run £30-80 depending on which site you check

Can it be hardwired to mains outlet or is it batteries only?
