Xiaomi Zigbee Smart Door Lock, 50% 3 day promo £90.32 @ Gearbest

So, 50% promotion price on the Xiaomi Aqara Zigbee/ Fingerprint/ Physical Key/ Key Tag/ Passcode Smart Door Lock, if you're looking for an alternative to Yale, etc.

There are 2 colour options in 2 configurations, but this sale is for the 'Open on the Right- Silver/Black' combination only.

The usual options of timed passcodes, fingerprint reader (they say 'live' so I assume a print-only doesn't work), physical key backup (concealed flap under the handle), and key tag (but it doesn't look like they provide any, I assume it's a programmed RFID card).

No reviews, but this has been on sale for a while at Gearbest.
Not the same as the Xiaomi on Banggood banggood.com/XIA…=CN

I have no experience of this, and I probably won't fit a smart lock anytime soon, just posting as an alternative.

The Yale version meets PAS 24 but unsure about this one.

As with the Xiaomi Gateway plus sensors set-up, which doesn't have to be connected online but local-network only, I assume this lock can be offline most of the time. You just need to set it up, the zigbee network could just hold an entry log.

And it could be used inside a house instead of the front door, eg security for a home office, which might be where I would use it personally.
I got a Yale ZigBee lock for a bit more than this before Christmas as old stock. The Yale is I'll insurance approved. The Xiaomi stuff is very well made but the insurance implications put me off. I bought the Yale for my flat in Spain. However since every home has nuclear blast proof locks here I'm not sure that the Yale would be insurance approved over here.

People do that when they get extra keys cut
All for smart locks. A coded digital signal is much more secure than a shaped piece of metal imo.
However this lock just looks plain awful.

Yep we're now running a Yale Conexis L1 lock, grabbed it on eBay for £165 with extra key fobs and the Z Wave module, which I actually have not used and used the standard Yale Module to hook up to the Yale Alarm smart hub, now when we unlock the door it also disarms the alarm at the same time.

That must save you many precious seconds without having, at the most, a 6 digit PIN to key in when you go home.

Well it's more a case of now not forgetting to turn it off, we've turned off the warning pips on the hub, that way any possible burglar won't be aware nor know where to go looking for it to try disable.

I'm confused as to how you fit this, there's no measurements for screws or anything.

Very clever idea to turn off the pips but wouldn't the burger see the alarm box on the outside of your house?

Well yes there is that warning but they might assume dummy box if they don't hear the pips and just carry on as normal. Honestly hope they never ever get in but every little to catch them off guard helps.

To make it easier for you to understand they have written - 10 (freezer temp) to +55 (36c UK hottest temp).

It is possible for UK weather to be colder than minimum but never been near the hottest, but global warning could impact in future.

I'm just wondering if that means I can burgle with a can of pipe freeze or a blow torch?
Seriously tho I've had minus 10 round my way a few times and I'd be pretty pissed if I was stuck outside.

Wait. This was a trick question, wasn't it. Burgers don't have eyes! (anymore)
