Well the switch will still turn it on to the basic light, daughter has the Yeelights and loves them, actually quite good as we have it on a schedule to dim down at bed time, so it's still a nightlight for her.
These ceiling lights come with a free bluetooth remote which is handy.

You wouldn't need a phone to work at all if you don't wish to. A (hardwired/wireless) switch (from Aqara/Xiaomi) on the wall can be installed as well. Although I personally prefer the wireless one and you can have multiple of them.

Bear in mind this is the 450mm version which is suitable for a normal size lounge in the UK.. The picture is just for illustration purposes.

Anyone know which Xiaomi server this works off?

Got caught out when I bought the Aqara Security camera and sensors which only work on the Mainland China server, but my Yellight bulbs will only work off the Singapore server if I want to utilize Google Assistant

Yeah, me too.
every once in a while Gearbest don't deliver, I've have two friends who order from them regularly and they both said once in a while they lose packages or receive empty boxes and offer no refund. they still do business with them but they resell at a profit, home/personal buyers should be aware especially for expensive items

Pay by PayPal and use the protection that offers.

Or, if the order is over £100 (not applicable to this item, I realise), pay by credit card and use s.75 protection.

Basically, as long as you're not paying directly by debit card, you should always be entitled to some form of protection which doesn't involve relying on GearBest themselves.

Can you replace the led's if they burn out or would it just be a replacement unit?
Can this be connected to the mi app?

Aye, right.
Just a heads up for thinking of ordering one.I had to cancel my order with Gearbest. The voltage is not suitable for the UK.It's mean't for american or european voltage.Just try and check if it's ok for your home.

Well spotted - 220v too low for UK use, one of the questions is:

QHey, can i use this lamp in Germany with 230 Voltage?

By James Feb-07/2018 05:02:35

AHello James,
Thanks for your inquiry.

Sorry, you cannot install it in Germany with 230 Voltage.
Slightly off topic but OP how did you get that price chart?

Well spotted and I'm sure many will thank you for pointing out the voltage issue. Most if not all if Europe are now officially 230v including the UK so officially this won't work for any European country.

This is designed for 220V so surely it's not meant for the american because they use 110V. There won't be any problem when the voltage difference is less than 10%, which is how they are designed. Funny enough the GearBest customer service would have said it won't even support German standard, which is non-sense.

You're right, PayPal refund without much issue. Just the initial hassle with GearBest especially when you waste around a month for delivery already.
