Lose weight. I don't advise eating these with chips, 'cos apparently they uncontrollably come out the other end and the grease floats.... Well you get the idea. But as part of a calorie controlled healthy diet, they can help

These were yellow tagged on the pharmacy counter and the assistant said they were having a clear out, so I don't know if they are clearing out old stock nationwide or not. I imagine it would only be at Tesco stores that have pharmacies.

There were two left in Tesco Colchester at about 6pm this evening.

Who wants to make "the only pounds you'll lose ........." joke?

this stuff doesnt work... and I get it on prescription

Why get it then?

Why get it then?

because my dr suggested it... I don't use it anymore... lost my excess weight through diet and exercise

Change your lifestyle, tablets don't fix an over eating problem or lack of exercise issue.

The best way.
Apologies for the assumption, you wrote 'I get in on prescription' so I assumed you meant still getting.
I'd feel so much more pride having lost the weight the 'hard' way.

My stomach is a perfect fat binder, I got it for free as luck would have it.

Why get something you don't use?

Is it because it's free?

Get a life!

If there were pills that could significantly aid weight loss do you not think the world would not be consumed by obesity. If your fat, use that £6.50 on a decent cook book

You mean you used these in conjunction with a calorie controlled and balanced diet along with exercise?

snowflake75

You don't get these on prescription. These are the unscientifically tested "fake" fat binders that don't really work.

The fat blockers you get on prescription are called Orlistat and have been proven scientifically to block 30% of the absorption of fat.

Can't you just eat 30% less fat?

I'm wondering how that could backfire.

Don't take with foods containg any fat otherwise you'll be off to the bog quicker than Usain Bolt oO

I thought its a folder to store your calorie count. L9l

Have some nice walks, eat what you want without being stupid, spend the £6.50 on er... fish and chips.

stoo being so judgemental!

I can only say that no-one is ever really happy being fat. The world has many problems and weight is one of the biggest. Having had to battle weight all my life all I can say is there is an awful lot of reasons why someone may be fat and it is so wrong to judge someone unless you know their life and why. My biggest dream would be to be thin and its one I have had all my life but due to ill-health and disability exercise, walking and now even driving the car is just getting so painful. To compensate I now only eat 2 meals a day to try and not put weight on. Life just isn't always fair. Tried diet pills but with having IBS as well lets say I wasn't happy when the bathroom seen more of me than anyone else.

How many calories in those meals? If it's more than 1000 each then there's your problem. No time for excuses if you're serious matey!

How judgemental you are - breakfast is usually a bowl of gluten free cereal with semi skimmed milk and no sugar and a midday meal of pasta, veg, rice and lean meat with no fattening products and if I am in too much pain to stand I wont eat. I don't need an excuse you jump to conclusions far too quickly.

Eat a meat and dairy free diet and you'll certainly lose weight.

Vegans are lean ...

Well, the ones who don't live off crisps....

It amazes me how people feel perfectly happy to sneer and pass nasty, hurtful comments at people who they don't believe fit in to there perfect gauge of normality regarding a persons size. Who decides what is normal and why is thin or skinny any better or attractive. It is a proven fact that not all people get the happy gym feeling by doing exercise and if you don't get it then you never will because it doesn't work for you, a person could eat the best diet and still be fat as is the same for eating masses of fatty and calorific food and never putting on a ounce in weight it is all down to multiple factors within each person. Just blaming fat people for issues is wrong because smoking, drinking and drugs cause much more problems than someone being over weight. If someone decides that they are not happy with someone's appearance then they are the ones with the issue and this does not give them the right to be rude or nasty to something/someone that they have decided is wrong to them. No matter what your size people will always have body issues which proves no single person is perfect, people should learn to be more accepting and less judgemental

I struggle to see the point in these. Obviously I can see the appeal in making fat loss easier but if you look at what they do and the side effects.

They only reduce the fat absorption by 30%, but in order to avoid the horrible side effects you have to reduce your fat intake. Let's say you ate 100g of fat (which I think is a lot) that's 30g you will sh*t out which is 270 calories. Which is hardly a lot based on the sides you would suffer.

At a more reasonable 50grams of fat you will only be saving 135 calories a day, that's like a short walk, or cutting back on a slice of bread!

Actually I am pretty sure the obesity epidemic is considered worse than booze and drugs nowadays.

I can also understand why it is hard for people with physical disabilities to stay lean but diet is pretty much all about calories in vs calories out. Hardly anyone has a slow metabolism like they claim, so if you are eating a healthy calorie controlled diet there is no reason to be fat.

However, we do live in a free world, we can chose to damage ourselves with booze and fags, so if someone is happy being overweight that is their choice.

but diet is pretty much all about calories in vs calories out

The idea is that you should do both.... Not take the tablets and eat more to compensate...

I know this isn't a diet forum, but may I suggest trying replacing the pasta with beans/lentils/green veg if you haven't already? When I've found I want to lose some weight then substituting out carbs in this way has worked effectively. I hope you find something that helps you.

Jesus EVERYTIME I come looking for bargains on here I see this same snide bickering as I roll down the comments ,are there no moderators with the ability to weed out these comments which spoil this website,I mean this one started out as a bargain observation and now where getting fat people's life stories for gods sake!

eat well, train hard, support with clen and you will get lean

Hot deal!

What a load of ****. The diet industry has demonised fat for years, when in fact our bodies are designed to consume vast quantities of it for optimum health.

Refined carbohydrates are the real problem, along with a blame culture and poor impulse control that seems to make out that people aren't responsible themselves for consuming a crappy diet with far too many calories and sitting on their ass all day.
