Hi all,

Managed to negotiate a deal for anyone interested in this top notch Monitor from Dell.
Currently Dell have this on offer for £264 (with Quidco etc it can work out a tad cheaper overall).

However, I managed to get this for £237.60 delivered.
I waited for it to arrive before posting this deal.
All I can say is that this is a stunning monitor, a massive difference in viewing clarity.

It comes well calibrated by dell and is good to go out of the box.

To get this price, go to the link, then look for the Chat tab on the right, chat or call them and ask for this price. I've already had several people confirm that they had this price honoured yesterday.

You won't find this monitor cheaper anywhere else :-)

Merry Xmas.

P.S. It's comes with Free 3 Years Warranty as well

Ok. So you phone up and say "I want a discount"
They say "why?".
You say "because a bloke on a forum says he got one"...
They say "Why did he get a discount?"
You say "I dunno..but I want one "
They say.."What's this customers name so we can check?"
"Err, Sharpharp"

You're right, it seems pretty convincing to me!

A reasonable enough question. It's good to have a reason for asking for a price reduction other than 'I was told to ask for it'!
What he means is, is it a price comparison or special offer seen somewhere else etc...

Is this a 'deal' as such? I mean sure the OP managed to get himself a deal by negotiation but it's not as if anybody else can just click on a link and get it for this price. This is more like going into a local shop and seeing a one off managers special. If anybody else can get it for the price of £237.60 then it's a deal, but until we see someone else snagging it for this price then it's not something I'd vote hot on.
read stuff on the not really HDR too... but its not a deciding factor for me just looking for a quality monitor for my son Really, been really pleased with some older dell screen at work and my eons old high end laptops (at the time ) so Dell is a plus for me, but without this full Hdr is this model worth the cash or are there better options out there ??

Cool story bro. The person who asked this question actually confirmed above that he simply missed it. So don't waste your breath.
Thanks op, went via their chat and asked if they could lower the price and was given £237 without even haggling.Hot

I think there is 10% discount for students at Dell so maybe he got that? £264-10%=£237.60

If I had, don't you think I would have put that in the OP? Chat and Call only, so you might have to actually type or speak to get this deal, rather than click a button and enter a code

What did you say exactly OP?
This works just as well* on Amazon.

Just start a live chat and then ask if you can have an iPad for £29.99

(* ie: not at all)
Ok, Just chatting now and they will do it for 237
Delivery expected 4 to 10 days after the order dispatches. Not a big deal but perhaps don't expect it before christmas. If that is important.
I wouldn't buy this monitor, as it has those funny round things on the bottom corners!
Trial 3, worked haha, just showed them this thread. Thanks OP

Worked for me too. I simply asked "Hi. I'm interested in the U2518D monitor but am enquiring if there is any discount available on the quoted £264?" and took it from there. Just goes to show, if you don't ask......
I've got the 27" and its fab! Paid £387 for it a year ago
delivery date friday
Mine is delivery date Thursday. Took a bit of an effort to get the discount. A pointer to the thread and then a quote or two before I got the offer through

thanks OP and heat added.
There's absolutely nothing 'HDR' about this display. I know that what constitutes 'HDR' these days isn't so strictly defined, but this is basically false advertising. 1000:1 contrast(typical for IPS) and 350 nits doesn't even come close to what HDR is *supposed* to mean.

Point taken but it is pretty messy at the moment.

With HDR, HDR10, HDR10+, HLG and Dolby Vision it is just damned impossible to keep up with the formats falling over themselves with what they bring and mean.

Putting the HDR question aside the spec of the monitor and its capabilities, coupled with dells pretty good warranty etc its still a damn good buy
Bloke on chat said the best they could do would be £245 for the next 24h as the £237.60 was an offer for a short period of time and has since expired. Not sure if it's worth trying another person just for £8 less.
caught another flipping white flamedeer
Just got one via live chat. The sales rep told me “the amount will be £237 including VAT and free shipping. to be delivered by 21st Dec“. Not bad... I did need a new monitor. Thanks op.
