I was in my local poundland today and came across these the media centre is for the xbox 360 which allows connection from a computer to the xbox 360 and also the parental lock is for the ps2 stopping the younger user in the family from using older games than there not allowed such as grand theft auto please be easy on me it my first post here.

They seem to have labels which resemble argos so I assume it overstock or just argos clearing out anyhow thought this was a bargain.

p.s. the store which had these were the victoria street, belfast store I assume like alot of deal with poundland there nationwide.

TVersity is all you need for a 360 media centre - works for PS3 too.

Parental Lock is not required if you supervise your children correctly ...

Well I thought it was a bargain the parental lock more than the other because yes parental supervision is all well and good but the addition of making sure that wee ones don't get onto the wrong material it help and for 1 pound it ain't exactly expensive for the reassurance

Hmm, what operating system does the software run on? because my xbox 360 has been able to access all the media on my PC as a standard feature, for free since windows XP came out... so basically money for functionality I've already got.... hence cold.

yeah I am confused! my X360 already can stream from my laptop as standard

Me too. All the time.

You dont need this to use your xbox as a media centre. .

TVersity all the way !
Can even stream .x264 High Def to any 360 on my network

I re-encode MKV files for streaming using XenonMKV xenonmkv.ev98.net/ takes around 10minutes for a 45min 720p file for me. Very easy to use just open the file and press convert pretty much

Works better for me as you dont loose any quality when transcoding

I found Tversity an absolute nitemare to use. Maybe it works well on powerful PCs but it just seemed to take up way too much resources on mine and made the PC sound as if it ready to take off.
