just slap an apple badge on it, pretend you spent allot more on it and then you're up with the trendies..

Good spec / price - especially good screen & RAM...

Just goes to show that you really don't need to put up with a crappy 1366x768 resolution TN panel screen on laptops these days even at the sub £400 price bracket.

Only weighs 1.25kg, really good price. Would seriously consider this if I didn't have a decent laptop already.

I've looked into getting something from XS a few times. They are very responsive and this is a good price with 1 year warranty. Sorely tempted, but think I might wait for the Raven Ridge APUs to arrive.

Very happy with the laptops I've bought from XSOnly

They've always been better than the description in their listings

Brilliant spec on this laptop, the M3's are quite capable. Black version also available: xsonly.com/col…050

I'm waiting for Ryzen APUs, they will support DDR4 2400, will give a nice performance boost, plus a new platform, hopefully they will be affordable.

Had the black version for about a year which is a long time for me! Only sold it as needed a bit more power, would definitely recommmend this though for this price.

doesnt seem cheap to me. I paid £499 for the FHD UX305 a couple of years ago, and it was brand new. 8G 128G.

Unfortunately hardware in the UK is 15-30% more expensive than before Sterling stumbled, and memory/SSD prices have gone up too even if you pay in $

Been watching these for the last week on eBay. This is a fair price for what look like as new items with solid guarantee. Have bought one. Most of my work is remote and just Office/Browser based, so screen resolution & light weight ideal. Reviews are really good.

I got exactly this laptop from them a month ago - bought it via ebay though for £30 more, I was just worried about getting more protection. It was super worth it. Believe me you won't find a deal better. The laptop itself is absolutely lovely - one of the best machines. You can find lots of positive reviews on the web. Totally recommend!

Apart from the occasional sale, prices of laptops have been trending up for some time. Value of the £ has gone down the toilet as well post Brexit.

New or refurb ?

Is this refurb ? How old would it ? Cosmetic ?
This or Apple air at 700 pounds ?

Is it DDR4?

The previous version of this had a 1080p screen, and the biggest complaint about this laptop is the battery drain caused by the screen.

And sub 400 is only because it's almost 2 years old and a refurb.

Been on the hunt for an ultrabook. Not sure whether to take the plunge or wait for Black Friday.

You can thank this stupid Brexit nonsense for this.

Still, at least we got our country back.

This is a really decent laptop, and good price for it too. My daughter has it at uni. Lightweight but sturdy, fast & powerful

What does refurb mean in this case

Belting deal! HEAT!

New or refurb ?

It was factory refurbed, with 1 years Asus warranty. No markings or whatsoever - wouldn't be able to tell if it was used. The battery life isn't great - 4-5 hours, but I might change the battery next year for £50

This may seem like a stupid question. But what do you mean 'replace the battery?' Surely you're stuck with the 4-5 hour battery no matter what?

My ex had the same model but brand new, and the battery life on his machine was 20-30% better than I am getting now. I believe the battery in the refurbished model remains old. Surely 4-5 hours is a decent life time, but I suspect it will dramatically decrease in a year or so.

Yeah but then you've got leeches like Teresa May and other self serving career politicians running it who are only in it for themselves.

Nice looking laptop - but i’m not much of a fan of the core m3 processor. In my experience it spends most of it’s time maxed out at 100% -eating the battery for breakfast.

....looking for a laptop for 11 year old daughter, very tempting- stupid question time : will this run sims 4? As, apart from homework duties, that’s all she keeps going on about!!!!!

Love this laptop. It doesnt have a fan so remains silent. Only problem is that the trackpad has annoying 'intertia' but that can be fixed by following this guide.

This guy shows it running at 60+fps with medium settings. I have this laptop, its great and silent becuase it has no fan

Are windows laptop's with ssd as fast as. The macbook with ssd? Only asking as my daughter wants a laptop for Xmas and I swore never to go back to Windows since I bought a macbook air. Now she wants one but obviously windows. Is half the price.

Ordered!

Thanks for the replies- hope My daughter will be happy with it

Ordered an XSOnly laptop on Thursday, next day delivery. Still awaiting any kind of update or dispatch confirmation. Online chat is unavailable and they don't appear to have a phone number.

Not very impressed so far...

On reflection this is not such an amazing deal.
I think best case scenario, laptop spotless cause the person looked after it, the battery will still be used and half life, a new battery cost 80 quid or so. So we are talking about nearly 500 quid which is what this was priced at new nearly 2 years ago and electronics fall fast in value as new chips and stronger machines more ram more this more that arrive

Screen: 13.3" 3200x1800 screen

This tiny screen has bigger resolution than my 27". Can't help but thinking of this

Will be the same as the air with SSD, the newer pro macbooks have a faster SSD but I doubt she would notice. Her problem might be that it isn't an apple though, teenagers like brands and apple is a popular brand at the moment.

I had the same concerns people had regarding older batteries etc so emailed them to inquire about the exact condition. They replied with the following: "These units are factory sealed and ship directly from an Asus UK distributor. These units were purchased as part of an excess stock deal and the battery is the original part when manufactured."

Exact problem I'm having. Not sure whether to hold off for Black Friday or not...if I do buy this I'd look at upgrading the SSD as it wouldn't be big enough, so that would be another £80ish on top of the price. Thing is it's not often I see a laptop under £500 which has a QHD screen.
