Decent price, but 20 mins run time ain't long! And that's probably calculated on nice easy to cut thin grass.

Agreed. The 20 mins is most likely not the total usable time either, when testing they often don't take into account run down speeds where a product like this is all but useless! I would guess around 15 mins usable time.

I have a similar strimmer and a medium size garden and it is ideal for my use! Agree that no good if overgrown etc.

"Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the Challenge Xtreme 18V Cordless … "Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the Challenge Xtreme 18V Cordless Grass Trimmer because: after a couple of 'bounces' to get the cutting line through - it didn't show again! Also, the trimmer was very heavy due to the battery, and I just couldn't get on with pressing one button and the another button together to get the trimmer to start. So I took it back to Argos - with a fully charged battery, and exchanged it with a corded strimmer, and one with an automatic feed. I would not recommend this product to a friend. I thought that a cordless trimmer would be useful, but, how wrong I was!""we bought this for the allotment does the job but the battery doesnt last very long also the bump action doesnt always work to let the wire cutter out.we didnt attach the roller at the front or you would never get to the egdes. you get what you pay for!""the trimmer may work well never used ittried to get a spare spool it was impossiblespent over an hour couldnt find anybody to suply spare spool not even argos even though they sell product thats why i rate trimmer poor change it for a bosch trimer can get spares for that in most garden centres""I was pleased with the build quality, etc... but at the end of the day the battery didn't seem to hold it's charge - charged for the specified number of hours and then nothing, nothing at all. Returned for a refund next day!""The stimmer is very low powered and unable to cut through Couch grass. The item is probably fine for the average town garden for a bit of edging but runs for a max of 10 min before the line just ''tickles the Grass''""don't bother with this, it's absolutely rubbish. After the strimmer is charged, it holds very little charge. (much less than what it says on the instructions).""Charged the battery for ten hours, it was very difficult inserting the battery onto the trimmer. It didn't wiork and to return it back to the store.""This equipment has not enough power to make a clean cut at the edge of grass. It is a good in theory but not in practice.""Decent value for money grass trimmer. Major flaw is the quick loss of charge in the battery.""This trimmer is fine except for it being difficult to get the battery in & out.certainly not for any one with poor grip.""Once assembled the strimmer works well, but the assembling took us an hour and a half just getting the front handle on to the machine. In the end, with the help of pliers and a lot of sweat and bad temper, it was done, but there must be a simpler method than fitting it over two protuding knobs that are difficult to hold in. If you are young and as strong as Sampson it will be fine. If you are getting on a bit don't chance the hassle, and buy something already assembled.""Took ages to set it up took ages the handle was most difficult you have to be very strong to get it in place got in place would not work had to take it back got my money back bad buy ."

This will be rubbish and a complete waste of money. Doesn't matter if it was £100 before, its not fit for purpose!

Its not that bad, We have a small garden and it cuts fine but would not want to use on anything overgrown,
Its great value for those who have smaller (12ft x 20ft) gardens
Cheaper than a gardener !!

I've got one of these and I think it's pretty damned good.

My battery's been fine. Unfortunate if some people have received bad 'uns.

My only criticism would be that the line supplied is a bit lightweight, but that's a consumable anyway. Stick some heavy duty line in and you're in business.

Voted hot.

To be fair it does amend the description to say it's actually manual feed and not bump feed...

20 min run time, will more than likely equated to 10 to 15 min which will go do down further almost every time you charge the thing,
nice spot though

These are quite good,at that price its a steal..heat

These are often not up to much. I have had a few domestic ones including and their cutting cord seldom advances as it should.

However, if you replace the domestic style plastic cord with the far thicker one from a commercial machine - the cord tends to last up to an hour or so, and you just set its length before you start. They both cost about the same price too.
