Great starter 3d printer, not as low as the black Friday deal on Ebuyer.com, but this is currently the lowest price for this printer. I have just got one and it is great fun. Also same price on Ebuyer.com

Worthwhile noting that re-flashing the firmware is covered on YouTube so you don't need to use the bespoke filament.

where is the fun with these what can you do that's of any use I'm curious?

so many things to print on thingiverse I have had had of fun watching it print and having useless tat gathering dust Actually we do use it for cake decorating and being able to make cutters in any design.

Have you printed anything interesting or useful mtdmonic? I wouldn't mind having a 3d printer but I can't justify the price as I can't think of what I would use it for! lol

Sounds like a good deal to me, thanks for sharing.

Good comment, however you need to check which firmware the printer is on. If it is above 2.2.6 then you can only use an NFC tag once per printer, if it is below then you can use the same tag multiple times. A good forum for this printer can be found here

The CoLiDo printer kit is reduced by £30 at the moment so is £169.99 which given the reviews I would possibly take a run on what do you guys think? Hot for the XYZ and even hotter if it is possible to flash it I didn't realised that :-)

I believe you can actually reflash the firmware on the unit, not the cartridge, to use repetier host. All you need is a screwdriver, and an arduino.

I haven't done it myself as I've got a different printer, but have watched the YouTube video and it does require a wee bit of technical knowledge and bravery to open up your new purchase.
