Handy if you have just bought one of the watches posted here from amazon. Remove links from your metal bracelet watch at home. Very simple to use, supplied with instructions. you will need to know whether your watch has push (sometimes called "split") pins or threaded pins. If you are not sure it's vital you find out as push pins require a push out tool (pictured) and threaded pins require a small watchmakers' screwdriver.

won the same item for 99p on that well known auction site, will come in handy with my new watch fetish

Nice, didn't know these existed and have 4 watches in the house I have to at some point take to a jewellers. H&R my friend.

ive got one and its been very handy at xmas time

Got one..thanks! However, a bent paper clip and something metal and heavy is just as good and takes less than 5 mins! Can't believe that I used to pay £5-10 for this before.

I used my angle grinder to grind off the tip of a very small screwdriver. Just hold it against the pin, and tap it with a hammer.
Works a treat:-D

i got one for 99p too, and that is all it's worth, cheap piece of plastic.

Or you could just eat so much that your wrist grows to fit the default size

I got one for 99p on the well know auction site also. How the hell can they still make money after manufacturing and sending from China?

Just on that other well know auction site and although the item appears to be from 1p, the postage makes it just as expensive (or cheap!) as this.

For a couple of quid more you can get a kit from the well-known auction site that has a few other items in addition to one of these and which will also be of use (small screwdivers, small hammer, link knockout block and springbar removal tool). The whole shebang is less than getting a starp changed at many high street places...

And what would call such a useful kit should one be looking for one?

some jewellers do it for free ive found, although some charge £10 for 10 seconds work!! I mean if you go into a jewellers or even argos for example and buy a £20 watch they will remove for free, so how do they have the cheak to charge £10!

Best of luck. I have bought two from ebay (one slightly different) and both broke on the first watch! I have since bought a more sturdy pin remover from ebay - little hammer and what look like mini die taps and they are far better IMO

no lie i got one of these a while ago they are rubbish not even worth 99p and if the width of the strap os to big it won't fit ........

You clearly just wanted an excuse to use your angle grinder :-D

Jewellers don't use these, they're rubbish

Jewellers need to think twice then. I took mine to one and he charged me £7 for the pleasure, it took him about 30 minutes and he scratched my strap. I brought one of these for 99p delivered and did the next one myself. It took me about 3 mins and my strap was fine afterwards.
