If you really think this has 5500 lumens....not saying this is a bad projector or a bad price, but how much trust you can put on the seller with such misleading claims. You will be lucky to find a decent project with these specs for under £600-700.
Ignore the reviews, I've got a Crenova with 4.5 stars reviews on Amazon. Was claiming 3000 lumens, my LG 1000 lumens was at least 5 times brighter. At this price I do believe you're better off with a used branded one. However, if you've never owned a projector, you may be pleased with this as you can't compare it. Didnt vote cold.

Has anyone on here actually owned one? The comments above appear to me to be thoughtful but would like to hear from an owner
Nearly 15k for £150 :/ :/ :/

Even if they own one, if they never had any to compare it, they will not know. I was pleased with my Crenova until I've got the LG. I've realised the difference was huge, the Crenova was probably 10% of the brightness they claimed. With the specs on this one, you should be able to use it in a bright room, instead of your TV. Such projectors are £1,000+. This price is OK if you set your expectations, i am sure you can make use of this. Hopefully somebody who owns one will reply.
157 reviews, of which 150 are probably fake 5* ones.

I'd pay £14.999 for it, but not £149.99

Do you not always hesitate to the high cost of the most famous brand products, because you expect to use a home theater in the tavern?

I know I do.

Owners pls reply before the deal runs out I need a projector quicktime
Have a look on YouTube for some reviews
i have a crenova 720p projector, great value and plenty bright enough for a dark room.
the reviews on these cheap chinese projectors are not fake, they are good value.
obviously if you spend 400 on an acer or lg projector that will have a better picture
Just do what I do with Amazon, buy it, use it, then send it back....
I use Abox 1080p projector and it is awesome. Priced under £200

Reviews are based on price too. My wife got me the Crenova with brilliant reviews. She paid about £60, according to them 50% off. Was not great, wanted to return it and they gave her £40 back to keep it. Was not very good, but worth £20 to use it in the kids dark room. So, apart from the fact lots of reviews are fake, if you pay little for it, you may not find it as bad as it is.

Are the ‘fake’ reviews more or less informative than Hotukdeals comments from people who definitely don’t own it?

I have the exact one. I paid £149.99 from Amazon and when it arrived it has a voucher in the box to claim a free gift, screen, WiFi dongle or £30 cash back. I claimed the £30 which made it a total of £119.99. It is excellent, a little loud but once you have got something playing you don’t hear the noise. Obviously it’s better in complete dark room but still works well in normal light.

Nice, will do the job as an occasional kids film night

Maybe not fake reviews, but comments may be influenced of the price you pay for it. Wife got a Crenova for me. Very good reviews. Paid £60, was ok for that price, but not great. We decided we don't need it, but when we wanted to return it, they gave us £40 back and to keep the projector. I can tell you, for £20, it is a brilliant projector, I nearly posted a good review on it.

so just to make sure this outputs at 1080p hd? as some projectors claim this but its a much lower resolution
I've bought "1080p" Chinese budget projector from Amazon last year. The actul resolution was 320x240 and it was terrible to look at. I've left bad review and wanted to return, but the seller contacted me and offer full refund without returning the item if I update my review for 5 stars. So don't trust the reviews!
I bought this projector about a month ago. Had to return it after one day because the bulb malfunctioned only showing negative colour. Could have been just a faulty one but it didn't inspire me to want to buy another one. However for the one day it worked I was pretty happy with it. Sound is pretty good on it and the picture is fine. It definitely won't be the stated lumens but they aren't using the ANSI lumen standard. It's bright enough to watch in room with a dim lamp on but obviously better in the dark. I've tried the Toptro 720p and the Bomaker 1080p that can be found on Amazon and was really happy with the value of there before returning them for a second hand Viewsonic which I now have. It is better than the cheap Chinese projectors - but not by miles and the price from new is significantly more than these. Best advice - buy it, try it and if you don't like it, it's so easy to return. It's not going to compare to a top name projector - but it's going to cost a fraction of the price.

I have had another YABER projector for around the same price.

Although it might not be as bright as some of the other more expensive ones who uses them in daylight? We just use it for a film a couple of times a week with the kids and it projects perfectly and image bright in a dimly lit room at 100 inches.
I have got this projector, I am really happy with it. I have managed to get a decent picture in 1080p about 80" screen at 9 ft away. It will not be great in a brightly lit room but a darkened room its great.

This has baffled me for years....how a totally crappy product on Amazon will boast 4.5/5 stars. I bought a similar Chines projector on Amazon. Specs claimed include 4k, UHD, 7000 Lumen brightness etc. What I received was no where near the specs on the packaging, in fact it was unwatchable, useless and practically a waste of money.

I've replaced mine with this on the bottom...there is great price on Argos for 550 Acer Predator Z650 at the minute.

very true i bought a camera that boasted all that top specs when i turned it on it was like recording something from the 70s. sent that straight back
Just search Gumtree/Facebook for a second hand projector. They'll be much better value than these Chinese knock offs (and yes I have owned one!).
Often these positive reviews aren't fake but they're quite questionable and clearly get incentives for positive reviewing - you see the same thing over and over, oddly named obscure chinese products being very positively reviewed by buyers who review many other oddly named obscure Chinese stuff, often tat and usually gushing with positivity that is way over the top.

Two things -
Brightness. No way is this going to be 5,500 standard lumens. Expect to need a pretty dark room.
Resolution. Download a test card image to your laptop or whatever. Then hook it up to your tv and note critically where things start going fuzzy. Then hook up to this projector and compare the image. Even if it really were creating 1920x1080 individual dots, a cheap lens system ain't going to be exactly sharp.

Fan noise is even more subjective than picture quality - some people always want the audio turned up to 11 (and it can be done easily), whether or not they need to because of the fan!

For the same money, you'd be able to get a rather better projector on the used market. But this should be easier to return if it ain't good enough for your intended use...

As I said before, believe it or not, the Chinese projectors claim 5000 lumens and in reality, believe it or not, they actually have only 50-200 lumens.
How will it get so many good reviews? Easy! My wife got me a Crenova, 3000 lumens. She paid £60 reduced from £120. Was rubbish and wanted to return it. They gave me £40 back and to keep the projector. So, it cost me only £20. Suddenly, I started to like it and I nearly posted a positive review. So, the reviews are based on the price you pay!
By the way, a 7000 lumens will cost you about £1,500.

This is what I mentioned too. You have to be crazy to believe a £150 projector has 5000 lumens.
I've paid £100 for a used LG (only about 30 hours usage), has 1000 lumens, which is not great, but it is ok for me. At least 5 times brighter than my Crenova with '3000' lumens.
I guess if you never had a projector, you may believe the specs are true, as you have nothing to compare with.
