The turn based combat put me off trying any others in the series.

This is the only turn-based Yakuza game. The others are free combat.

One of the best RPGs to have come out over the last few years.

50+ hours just to complete the story
100+ hours to do almost everything the game has to offer
200+ hours if you want to 100% everything.

Also, the yakuza series has some of the best side quests in gaming....

I personally enjoyed the transition to a turn-based combat system in this game, it made it a fresh entry for me.

Absolutely astounding game. Fantastic price and doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Really enjoyable game!

Got this on PS4, but you have to pay for the upgrade how much of a difference is the PS5 version?

If you already have the PS4 version I wouldn't recommend paying to upgrade to the PS5 version - the upgrades are minimal, all you really get is 60 frames per second and a 4k mode @ 30fps.

Although I wasn't aware you had to pay for the upgrade now? As far as I knew it was free, I guess that was only for a limited time.

Do i need to play any of the previous Yakuzas before i play this one?
    Rebecca_Sim's avatar
Not really, it's a different story with different characters. Same universe with slight crossover with some characters from previous games but doesn't depend on knowledge of them. Would highly recommend them though!
