I've thought about buying these a few times but the negative reviews put me off.
Don’t let the negative reviews put you off. I have 3 of them and are brilliant. I will never go back to normal locks again. Never had any issues with mine. Just follow the instructions carefully and you won’t look back
how many fobs/cards do you get with it? Can't tell from description

Thanks, do you use the app to open the locks or just the fobs?

I was initially told that because this is a handle and not a lock (the locking mechanism stay in your door) then it isn't covered by a BSI rating, although the handle is PAS 24 rated . Seems like from the above picture Yale have changed their description and mind and are now calling it a 'lock' even though it isn't.

Is that with the z-wave module? What battery life are you getting with it?

Yep the module 2 about 3 months I would say
What does the camera do? How does this all work please.
My friend loved his conexis and sang it’s praises so highly I considered one myself. That was before he got locked out with his wife and child, he was locked out overnight (his in-laws live close so not the end of the world) and Yale did eventually replace the lock as it was faulty but he takes a back door key everywhere now so what’s the point?
Also a genuine question; if your house is broken into by a clever thief through this lock and there is no sign of forced entry (smashed window, broken lock etc) are you insured?
This may be a silly question; at what point can I enter the code? I don't see anywhere available up until going off to SagePay and it's too late by then isn't it?
Just before final payment it’s there

Ah, fair enough, I should just have been patient. I've fancied one of these for a while, £160 is around the point it becomes worth it!

Cheers!

Interesting. My smart yale alarm sometimes shows as being disarmed until I walk downstairs and wake the street up at 4am because the dog wants a pee. I'd be inclined to be wary.

They would have to be a very clever thief as there's never been any reports of this lock being hacked into.

I'm my case though my house alarm would active and there would be a date stamp log on there.

Yale alarms are pants LOL, it's the Samsung Smarthings hub that tells you if the door is locked or not and not the Conexis app.

I use all the methods for unlocking them. I use the app, fobs, cards and I have one with a smart module in it to allow Alexa to open it. But the module saps the battery too much for me so only have it on one door

If you google “z wave hack” I think they’re talking about the Yale lock though I’m no expert.
i know what you mean about your alarm log but could I just say someone broke into my house and stole my watch collection get a claim going and put them all on eBay?

Mine hasn't got the optional z wave module in.
Good price, just looking at alarm systems and might get one of these if we get the Yale Sync. Shame the Yale cameras seem a bit rubbish and it all doesn't link in through one App that well.

I think that was the first z wave module, that has been updated since then with better security.
You could say someone stole your car the same way, or someone robbed you in the street, with no evidence to back it up. It would generate a crime number but you’re unlikely to get a pay out without supporting evidence. If you tried that and put your watches on eBay and were traced as part of the investigation, you’ll end up with a fraud conviction. I have one of these and it’s been great, but also have a house alarm and cctv. If set up 100% then these work great. The negative feedback ‘often’ comes from people who can’t/don’t have the patience to set them up correctly.
Genuine question. Does anyone know of one of these type of locks that has a key option as well. I live in a flat with only one door in and out..can’t take the risk of it not working or that’s me knackered

Me also!!
" z wave module" for the hack you must be close to the person operating the door, I would not worry about this because if someone is standing next to you at your front door with a laptop you would have big concerns why they are there, there are a few up to date video's on youtube about the hack! Heat for such a good deal

Ultion Smart has just been released. Is pretty pricey though - between £230-£260 depending on model
