Is this not better value for £80?
Includes: Siren box, 2 x PIR movement detector, 2 x door/window contact, keypad controller, batteries, installation guide DVD.
Yes same apart from the extra key fob, fobs are £15 from Amazon etc so many it's up to you. I would get the telecommunications one, it rings up to 3 numbers and mine was £179 from homebase

via mobile sim or land line?
i have an older version of this kit. i bought a small keypad so it can be operated without the need to carry a keyfob around with you. Plus any family member can arm or disarm it.
The keypad was around £40.
I have had this type of alarm for 19 years and i would by another when the time arrives.

I have this one and the thing won't dial out, I've a Virgin media socket and have replaced the bundled wire and still no joy.

Just don't tell your insurance you have an alarm, they will assume it is professionally installed and serviced, if it isn't and you get burgled they will use it as an excuse not to pay out.

That is the older 6000 series, this deal is for the newer version with rolling codes and anti jamming. This is the better deal.

Me too. Had one of these for 10+ years and still going strong. I recommend getting a 2nd bell box so there is a visible deterrent on the front and back of the house.

They won't assume at all - my previous insurers and current insurers asked if mine has been professionally installed and I said no it's a self install as its wireless. They note this on the policy. This kind of set up is more for personal peace of mind but also offers a good deterrent.
How has this got so hot?! One with a panel was 75quid at homebase last week and aldi!

why would it be an excuse? if you've not disclosed something as significant as a burglar alarm on your home insurance it was be generous to honour the policy.

Just be totally honest and disclose everything when it comes to insurance. You're just paying for nothing otherwise because they won't pay out.

Yes it is "not better" You are right!

Useful... Not...
Yale and quality cannot be put in the same sentence. They are DIY and do not conform to any industry regs and any professional installer would rip it out. Buy cheap, pay twice!
only one PIR and door contact so you will need to factor in cost of additional sensors to get something that is going to work effectively. So Will probably end up costing another £50-80 to get something decent.

A line is a line, I'm with talk talk. May be something is faulty.

Not... What?

Sorry. I keep correcting my children who put a negative in a question reversing what they really mean and it must have rubbed off a bit on here. No offence intended.
