Yale SR 320 Smart Alarm £236 @ B&Q

Several options of these at the moment but reduced at B and Q so major retailer. 45 days returns. Some better packs out there with a camera for 300 but if you want a good base pack which you can build on seems a good deal to me..if these are your thing. Had them in at band q Wakefield.

Hi where has that date come from. They arnt saying they are pulling support from then. You get two years guarantee. So if that was the case you could push for a not fit for purpose refund? You can get the accessories for good prices from eBay. I using this as a secondary alarm to my wired alarm as upgrades are expensive. Struggling to see any other decent alternatives our there. Some good tech but some don't even come with an audible alarm option !
Limited stock. Not available for delivery.

apparently they will keep it live and it's just a contract issue they have to state. I've got this system and it's very good!

I've read this too but it has to be bad wording. They can't just pull the plug, these 'smart' alarms are going to become more and more popular.
Iv had a yale wireless alarm for a couple of years and every 6 months i have to change 1 of the d batteries in the siren, it keeps killing just 1 battery but the other 3 are fine. so id advise anyone to check theirs before the guarantees up.
get a visonic instead, they are the only wireless ones professonials use and decent wholesalers stock
Had his over a year with zero issues.

Also the app and smart functions are continually updating so I highly doubt this would be pulled in 2018.
Have had the EasyFit Telecommunication model for about 3 years now.

Can confirm is an awesome alarm. Not a single false alarm. I do test it every 6 months or so and it trips as intended. On the second set of siren batteries, they seem to last just under 2 years as stated.

Door sensor works great on my shed as well. Gives real piece of mind. Really tempted to upgrade as all my current EasyFit range devices are compatible with this and the app would be cool. Hope they sell that Smart box separately at some point...

Samsung SmartThings does everything this can and a lot more for the same money.
You can buy a siren to go with the set if you want from Aeontech, but better off with a silent alarm IMHO.
My house knows when it occupied and when it is not and acts accordingly, so no messing around with access codes when you arrive home.
Instead it switches all the lights on for me when I get close to home.
Stick a fake alarm box up though of course.

I have this alarm for 5 months now and really happy with it. I paid £240 to Amazon at that time and this price is really good. Always use the the app in my mobile to arm/disarm the alarm which is very handy. When the power goes off, the smart hub will switch to internal battery.
With this price is better to buy cctv or ip cameras... eg Foscam R2 FHD for £100 each or different/cheaper if you like...
At this price probably better to get a decent alarm system like a Pyronix Enforcer Kit 3 Grade 2 System which will also come with more sensors.

I don't think I could 100% rely on SmartThings - I have gotten some false alarms from the motion detector and a few times I have gotten a notification telling me the presence sensor has left home despite it not moving anywhere.
I wouldn't bother with these i had a Yale easyfit and it died after suspiciously soon after warranty expired.
What happens if the burgular comes in and unplugs the wifi or switches off the electricity from the mains switch?
Is SR310 (£150 on Amazon) the same as this minus 1PIR and 1 window contact. If so could be cheaper to buy SR310 plus an extra PIR and window/ door contact.

You can't rely on Smartthings as a security system. I too have had many false alarms, on 2 separate units. Agreed its great and if not the best out there for home automation/expandability but not for a dedicated security system. Saying that I do use it as a security system but have to use CCTV as a confirmation to a false alarm, which isnt ideal by far. I defo wouldnt fit an alarm to it, it would get knocked off the wall with frustration if I had done.

They have battery backup and my Yale system recommended to place the unit out of sight as an extra level of security.

And your ISP router does what??

I think the point that is trying to be made is if you loose mains power there is a backup battery in the main unit so it will still trigger the sirens. This means that the sirens will still ring and hopefully disturb the intruder enough to exit the property. Obviously, you won't get notified as no internet but the siren alarm will still sound as everything runs off batteries.

The point is ...this goes towards deterring the burglar....what if...what if. More can only be better. Thanks for liking guys. I'm happy with my purchase.
how easy are these to fit?

could i possibly put a monitor on my shed door? (garden) or does it have to be in close proximity to the router..

i think i may be tempted now

Price matched on Amazon but you'll have to wait a few weeks for delivery.

I bought one as B&Q are out of stock locally and home delivery.
Sr310 has no siren so sr320 good deal at £236

Yes because it comes with 2 more PIRS and the system (Pyronix which is now owned by Hikvision) is highly regarded by professional installers and alike.

The alarm is very easy to fit and set up. I've been using mine for three months and very happy with it. Just bought extra door contacts and will probably buy the smoke alarm too.
cool may go for the costco 400 pound deal

planning an extension soon, so perhaps i can get it installed now and add other door sensors later
Just out of interest, has anyone mounted the PIRs without screwing them into the wall? I put one up using some 'no more nails strips' and it has stayed up so far, just a bit worried it might fall down one day which im guessing will set off the alarm.

Just use two screws, 4 as they recommend is over kill I feel. It takes 15 mins max to attach, and no more nails would leave bigger marks than two drill holes.

Samsung system is more expandable
and smarter, but it isn't a purely security design system,
...and is less secure and reliable from what I have read. So it depends on what you want.
