Good lock, but you shouldn't use this on its own.

It can be cut with say, an angle grinder quite easily. Sad to say, that is any lock. This type of lock however will ruin bolt croppers so if you pair it up with a really good cable lock (hard to cut with grinders, but easy with bolt croppers) you will get pretty good protection.

Thieves usually carry only one type of tool, and won't go for bikes that are locked with two different locks, because it would take too long.

Do you have a link for anything that you would recommend?

The other issue with this is at 5Kg is basically too heavy to carry anywhere with you so only really an option for leaving at a specific location to lock up your bike.

Do these types of locks suffer from seizing up?

Liquid nitrogen and chisel will crack those links. Don't know why they don't do nylon rope (seizes bolt cutters) with moulded ends or giant D lock with spindles inside floating in oil which just spin round with angle grinder
