While I have the musical ability of a brick being thrown down a well, I understand this is a pretty good deal for guitar afficionados out there, so thought it was worth sharing!

I have no clue about guitars. It's nice to see some deals for something other than video games or clothes, though.

Voted hot, looks a good price, although the £365 price tag seems high. £250 seems to be a more consistent price point.
Great guitar for the price. Bought a 2nd hand one for only a little less last year
I have a much older version of this. Good price for a quality branded electro acoustic.
Solid deal.
Used to have an older APX model. Was a quality lower priced guitar and was my first electro-acoustic. Without reading up in it, at face value that looks a decent price.
At this price, it’s the steal (string) of the century

£229 in some but that doesn't take away from the price.

It does look like a great deal for an APX. I almost got one when I started playing and chose a Takemine instead, but this looks like pretty decent hardware for the money.
You not better this for the money. I’d recommend this to anybody with this as their max budget

I never suggested otherwise and voted hot. I was just adding practical information for the benefit of other forum members. A saving of £50 is quite different from an alleged saving of £165, on a £200 spend.

I wasn't implying that you were suggesting otherwise!
Just pointing out that the actual saving compared to the next lowest price is £30; more practical info.
Bought fender cc60sce couple of months ago otherwise I would have ordered this. £199 is a great price!
I have one of the original APX500 guitars and paid near this price for 2nd hand one at the time..

Absolutely superb, I'm just a novice but even mates who've played for years raved about it.

Happily recommend Yamaha as a brand, nice build & sound quality. Have also got a more basic F310 acoustic & a lovely electric Pacifica 112v

Cracking purchase at this price, nice spot OP

My son plays the guitar, is this better than an Alvarez?

He has this one at the moment and i am looking at getting him a new one for his birthday

Hard to say. The Alvarez should sound better plugged in because of the LR Baggs pick up in it. I wouldn't mind betting that the Yamaha sounds a bit thinner. Neither have solid woods that I am aware of.
I would always recommend people buy second hand with guitars..your money will go a lot further.
Nice price. I would usually recommended a Takamine if after a budget electro acoustic. However, as said above, second hand will always get you better guitar. plus you can try it out first which is the most important when buying.
I have the apx6a which I got for about £500 years ago. I must say it's a good guitar. Great intonation and stays in tune really well. Not sure how similar this model is but I don't think you can go wrong for this price, just don't expect it to sound like a Martin d18!

Desperate for a marked down 12 string acoustic. Any suggestions anyone?
Great guitar for the money ... Yamaha guitars are a lot of guitar for the money without price reductions.
Don't suppose they have the left handed version, do they?

Buy two of these maybe? 🎶
I have an apx 4a from the 90s' and it is still a favourite of mine. Paid £350 way back then.

At this price it seems a no brainer to me if if you're looking to buy new.
I have a Yamaha APX-7A which I bought years ago and it cost more than three times this price - I love my guitar and it plays and sounds amazing - also stays perfectly in tune. For £199 I don't think you can go wrong buying a lower model APX guitar like this one. Saying that however, looking online, there are lots of places selling this for not much more than this. The £365 appears to be misleading so I would ignore that figure.

Lol. A Fender acoustic guitar?

That's like saying BMW make good motorcycles. Get a BMW bicycle.

Yamaha's musical instruments have a good reputation.

Fender make guitars
Yamaha make any product in the world as long as some idiot will overpay for it

Numbers. Stats. Way the world works
Nice price, shame there's no dark red burst though!

My first acoustic was a Fender - it wasn't great, very tinny sound. Often you are paying for the name with Fender and Gibson in my opinion. Martin too to some extent - Taylor guitars often beat Martin in group reviews despite being cheaper (though still expensive).

In my view, Yamaha are a good compromise between an overpriced 'brand' and an unbranded unknown quantity purchase. Decent quality, reasonably priced.

Fender make some great electrics, they have a fuzzier reputation when it comes to acoustics.
For most (not all) Fender acoustics, you're overpaying just to get the brand name. Some of their acoustic stuff is good for the price though.

You're not wrong that Yamaha make a lot of stuff. But that also doesn't change the fact that they make some really good acoustics that are generally a fairly reasonable price.

Each to their own of course, but I've never met someone who has actually tried both a Fender and a Yamaha from the same price bracket that has actually preferred the Fender.
It has a Laminate top. TBH as somebody who knows a lot about guitars(used to sell them for a living)this ain’t a great deal. These days at around the 200 to 300 Mark there are plenty of solid top acoustics about. The woods are key as they create the resonance.

Fender acoustics are awful. They are legends as are Gibson of the electric world with the tele, strat and less Paul etc. Martin, guild,Taylor etc top end of the acoustic world.
Fender make the worst acoustics. Only good for Electric and must be American or Jap made.

Not really for the two to three mark you should really be looking at a solid top. It doesn’t matter how well constructed the guitar is if it’s made from laminate as the resonance of the wood is key. Also you get a lot more for your money if you buy a used guitar and there are plenty knocking about.

This has a solid top and is much better value. Solid woods are key for the resonance. Laminated are the cheapest and have no tone.
Had an APX for years now. Quality guitar. If the qualities stayed the same it's a no brainer for anyone wanting a good electro-acoustic
