Very hot.

The book/DVD is worth £10.
The tuner is worth £9.
The spare strings about £6
The bag £5

And the C40 guitar is normally about £100.

Bargain. If I didn't already have too many guitars I'd have one of these tomorrow.

Hot hot hot, cheers.

h and r already left - bought one last week after checking out the guitar in a local shop, they wanted £89 for the guitar and the dvd. No bag, no tuner, no spare strings, they wouldn't haggle so I bought amazon instead, absolutely great sound and I'm very happy with the purchase.
many thanks OP!! I just wish i could leave you more rep!

Cold? pah...

Christ sarcasm really is lost on some people...

Wouldnt the bridge need to be changed too? Seem to remember this problem leading me to buying a proper left handed one instead.

Note to the guitar newbies, this is not an "acoustic guitar", as in the thing you strum around a campfire, this is a classical guitar which is different. It has nylon strings rather than metal, different shaped neck and is designed to be finger plucked. Think of the thing flamenco guitarists play and you have the idea,

Classical guitar

Awesome find!

I am a guitar newbie, so been looking to pick up a guitar. I was looking at the Yamaha F310 Basic Starter Pack (amazon.co.uk/Yam…5KA)

What is the difference between these two guitars? Which is better for beginner?

It shouldn't on a classical guitar. The bridge is usually flat. It is on mine. There might be an issue with the nut if the grooves for the strings are of different depths, but a small jewellery file should sort that out.

The Yamaha C40 is a nylon stringed classical guitar, whereas the F310 is an steel/brass stringed acoustic guitar. The former has a wider neck and is smaller in size. It is primarily for plucking. The acoustic is larger and louder and can be either plucked or strummed. In theory, the classical guitar is a little easier as the strings are kinder to beginners' fingers, but which one you buy ultimately depends on what type of music you would prefer to play.

For rock/pop etc, you should really look at the F310, but both types can be used to learn the basics.

Look at my post above. The one you posted is a regular acoustic guitar, the one in this bargain is a classical guitar. If you don't know what a classical guitar is or why you would want one then I suggest you get a regular acoustic!

boonkoh, buy a decent second hand electric. less than 100 quid will get you an excellent instrument (steer clear of new sub 60 quid matchwood). yamaha, squier, vintage are all decent. you dont need an amp, the action( distance between strings and frets) will be better, the neck is more user friendly, i could go on but i wont. do not buy on impulse, try the guitar and leave to think. try again, research on the web. you will end up with something you are comfortable with and want to practice on. i have learned this lesson the hard way!
good luck and dont give up.
this is a good deal, btw, but it may have limited appeal. it is definately not a begginner instrument imo, but still hot.

If you were to go the electric route you cant go wrong with the Yamaha Pacifica 112, it is the best bang for buck beginners electric out there.

Thanks for info, it was an acoustic guitar my dad bought me years ago that I tried to re-string. I got an electric one a few years back and never really progressed further than learning chords. With playing Rockband and Guitar Hero I now wish i stuck in and learned proper

I was like you had an acoustic then a cheap electric never really got into it then for some reason i thought right i`m gonna give it a real go and bought a PRS singlecut SE and now i play at least 1-2 hours a day and have been for last 2 years , even though they are pretty reasonably priced its such a joy to play, and thats the difference a good quality instrument.

what does this mean beloved monster, is that supposed to be a tab?

looks like a power chord - root fifth and octave.

Sorry to be asking what may be a stupid question but I would like to know is this guitar suitable for a child who is learning to play??? I'm looking for a guitar for my 9 year old daughter as she's decided she'd like to learn and is going to be having lessons at school next term. Any advice would be much appreciated as I haven't got a clue about what I'm looking for.
