If you can afford it, these are the best value for money 5.1 speaker system that money can buy for £200
Tannoy SFX 5.1 speaker package

Yamaha amp/tannoy speaker combo is always a really nice sound. Even with the budget amps the Tannoy's sound great, and they can handle plenty of power. So much better than the well marketed bose systems, and much cheaper.

Of course they are twice the price of the OP's deal

Yes they will be fine, but dont take my word for it go ask them in Richer sounds

also if you join their VIP club you get sent a voucher for £10 if you spend over 100 in store

I got the Efx 6.1 about 2 years ago for £119 plus another sat to make 7.1 for £12 off ebay.If you shop around I am sure you can locate a better budget bargain.

I disagree. My mate has them, they are ok but not wow!

not sure about these ones but i have a set of the nsp110's, not amazing but for the price they sound very good, Although obviously beaten by the sfx's but not keen on the looks of those ones. jamo102's are another good option

Can anybody recommend a great wireless home cinema system?

It really depends what's driving them. I was using a Yamaha DSP-A2 and it was fantastic. For £200 I could never find anything that came close to them. I have now got Tannoy arenas which is a different class, but they cost 5 times the amount. I find Tannoy second to none for AV, but that's just me. Out of interest, for £200 what would you recommend instead of sfx's.

I got some Canton Movie Cx80's for £150 from Richer Sounds a couple of weeks ago and they are the Dogs. They replaced a set of Tannoy fx 5.1 and the step up in performance is amazing. Pay £50 more and see if you can get some Canton's. The build, style and small size knocks the Tannoy series into a cocked hat.

What you should look at is the Boston Acoustics 5.1.......
They get 5 stars and home cinema speaker of the year for under £500 and if you look around, you'll find them for about £300, with the normal retail price of £350.
Having worked for Best Buy, you can here all different systems, and the Boston acoustics are really sweet sounding.
Equally, we had people asking for completely wireless speakers all the time, but there aren't any out there, ( at least not in everyday retaillers). The best solution is to go with 5.1, even with cables, or go for a 2.1, keeping the front speakers nearby, or lastly, go for a sound bar, but get a sub to go with it, as it will lack tonal quality... Harman Kardon do a genuinely fantastic soundbar / sub system, which I would recommend. The first manufacturer to do a truly wireless system are going to make a mint... Every other customer looking at a 5.1 wanted wireless all around. There are systems where you can get wireless rears, but the sound isn't great, and they need to be near the mains too,
Hope this helps

I'm getting tired of phoning Richer Sounds about special offers and being told they have no stock.

Have them, brilliant speakers!! Bought them for £200 at the same time as i bought the Denon 1911 for £330 @ richersounds

Spoke to the guy in the shop because i was going to buy the pioneer ones mentioned......

Are these better / worse … Are these better / worse :http://www.richersounds.com/product/speaker-packages/pioneer/shs100/pion-shs100 ?

....but the bloke said "pick up the pioneer speakers, then pick up the tannoy speakers. Feel the difference in weight" turns out the tannoy have more than twice the amount of copper in the voice coil than the pioneers! Really worth paying extra for IMO

Supercare for speakers, i'd be quite interested to hear if anyone's ever had speakers breakdown?

so can anyone recommend an AV receiver to go with this that is under £200?

thanks

that rx-v467's gotta be a contender at sub-£200.

if you can afford better though the 667 might be worth looking at

@ lilacjumper, re wireless speakers.

I have been looking around for wireless rear speakers. What you will find, is there are no wireless speakers, just fewer wires.

After reading this review reviews.cnet.com/spe…tml

I found mention of this amphony.com/pro…htm however, the rear speakers still need to be plugged into a mains socket.

if anyone lives near the bath store they are available ex demo for £69.99 with the one year guarantee
