wonder if comments like this still make people chuckle ??

can some one please advise , would I be able to use an ap to search my music database on my server pc that is hard wired to this via LAN thanks
reason is went to a do at mates house and he passed round his tablet and you just searched, but it was online as he subscribed to napster, think his set up was a sonos or the like
and my music database is more bespoke(and accurately tagged)

Seriously considering this product. How does it compare to an equivalent onkyo? And what would be a good speaker package go with this in a budget of £300-£400?

Just compared it to the RX-V675 (which I've always looked out for) and difference is this doesn't do upscaling or have a learning remote.

Fab AV for the price though.

Doesn't the onkyo have 6 HDMI inputs?

Only an idiot would buy hifi from a motorcycle manufacturer.

I'll stick to reputable brands like sony
Or better still, bush, alba, Matsui, goodmans, aiwa, Grundig, Polaroid, wharfdale

Aiwa is Sony ...

Saisho is the best!

A liitle unfair to put Aiwa and Wharfdale in with that lot. Aiwa made excellent tape decks in the 80's and Wharfdale made reasonable speakers...not sure you can say the same for the rest of those brands!

Edit: I take your point on Wharfdale....it seems the name has been licensed to Argos for electronics but not speakers.

I'm guessing they were trying to be funny, or at least I'm hoping in the sake of humanity

Has it always been? Sony made excellent cassette decks too!

I just dumped an Onkyo Amp, and replaced it with a Yamaha. Best thing I ever did.
Onkyo ran worryingly hot.
Yamaha separates sound in games, and has much better 5.1 for effects.
My HDMI glitches with Xbox 360 and Xbox One went away when I switched to Yamaha (although this is newer than my Onkyo)
They were both good for Stereo music.
And on Headphones, Silent Cinema truly does sound magnificent. Playing BF4 on headphones when the sub woofer at night would be too noisy is ace. Gets my vote anyway.

Was about to get the Denon x2000 tomorrow, anyone know how this compares? Back to the research....

I don't understand why ppl are trashing Yamaha.
They make fine products.

their bikes are especially hot!

my rx-v671 does

How much is road tax for this?

Sorry, I know it's a stupid comment but reading some of the comments above, I didn't start it.

People do realise that the stupid comments above are wind ups don't they.

I can't think of a better amp than this for even twice the money.

I think the 675 is worth the 100 nore

I just changed from an onkyo sr607 to a yamaha rxv775. Best thing I ever did. sounds much better, 5.1 is better and easier to use.
wouldn't buy an onkyo again

I would look at some q acoustic q2050i. My friend just bought a pair, clear treble nice mids and decent bass.

Take note this is purely from what I have read of the specs they provide a wifi interface for streaming from a nas I think it is optional and probably quite expensive if the pricing is similar to Panasonic TV wifi adapters .
I also think the protocol is DNLA which would cripple your organisation of your nas in DNLA file order DNLA doe not see flac files.
A more useful solution would be a media player like Mede8er which would give you the option of Ethernet connection > hdmi > to amp and display on the tv for seeing the nas contents for selection.
The Mede8er will handle most video & Audio formats.

Excellent AVR for this price. I got RX-V673, few months ago for £450.

A member for 3 years and the humourous av receiver posts are lost on you ?

I give up lol

Very good deal, voted hot, thanks op

I swapped out a 4 year onld yamaha av receiver for the £99.00 onkyo deal which was on here xmas 2012 or new year 2013, and I have never been totally happy with its sound reproduction.

80 watts per channel as per the Richer Sounds website...is that right? Is that all?
