Non of that Atmos stuff but still a great soundbar, a bargain at this price. I've had one for about 3 years, can't fault it.

5 star review at what hi-fi

I ve got one in my home. The sound is great for movies but won't be able to compete with proper hifi speakers when using for music. Would still buy again, great surround sound while avoiding the need to put 5 speakers around sofa
is it worth going for this or get a dolby atmos one? my tv and shield can both support atmos? thanks
I have this, think I paid about £600 for it a few years back. Sound is great, as is functionality. You have potential to get it cheaper with the make offer button, then apply the code at checkout.

Unless you are willing to pay probably double this i'd pass on the atmos sound bars just now. The sound from this is really good, more so if using DTS content.
I have this bar and it’s fantastic. I grabbed one of the top spec Samsung Atmos bars a few weeks back as an upgrade but returned it as the 2700 sounds far better. Great price heat added.

This soundbar is soon to be replaced by Yamaha
I wanna vote hot for your avatar but that wouldn’t be in the best interest of the site.

Have a virtual MOT, instead.

Any info on the replacement?
Sorry not any yet
I’ve bought one of these recently.

The first one went back because of a humming subwoofer. That was a pain in itself, because whilst Peter Tyson do Saturday deliveries with DPD, collection for return/swap can only be done on weekdays...

Anyway, be aware that the subwoofer covers most of the sound range and is therefore quite directional, and so unlike a normal subwoofer that you can hide away, this one needs to be on display and located near the TV, so that it sounds like it is coming from the general location of the TV.

The auto calibration is good, but does need some tweaking after to get the most out of it.

Apart from that, the sound is very spacious - and the placement of sounds around the room is boggling.
Bought one of these from PT recently.
Totally underwhelmed by it and sent it back. I think my expectations exceeded the bars capabilities.
Opted for Sonos Beam and 2 Sonos ones (2nd gen) and can say they better fit my requirements.

Why not playbar and 2 sonos for rear?

Yeah you need to have the right room layout otherwise they won't sound right, and correct setup is important.

Unfortunately due to our tv placement it does not allow us to fit a Playbar in front of it. The TV sits on a solid oak piece of furniture and at its highest setting the bar would still encroach on the screen.

I think you’re right mate. In a square uncluttered room it would probably perform better. I experienced none of the sound qualities this units boasts of.
Probably due to our long wide shaped room.

Yes I get it. So what do you think of the beam so far? Is the bass good enough for both music and movies? Cheers

I must say I’m very impressed to date.
Not much of a movie buff but what I have watched so far has exceeded my expectations.
Also, music from the likes of Clean Bandit is outstanding as well as other artists. Clarity and tone is superb.
A great all round set up for me!
