People voting cold don't know what this is. Yamaha are the rolls royce of sound bars. They prefer to buy mutton dressed as lamb for peanuts

Yamaha soundbars are the best, they really do provide the best in total entertainment without having wires and speakers all over

Just bought this from richer sounds £600!! I asked them to price match against C&M

A rolls royce of sound bars is still a sound bar. 162w Sound bar for £619? What am I missing?

So I take it a pair of headphones are just a pair of headphones?

You clearly don't know what the difference is between quality sound and garbage.

I for instance own a yamaha soundbar. I also own sennheiser hd600's, akg q701's, hifiman he400's, sennheiser hd558, hd25-1 ii and momentums.

I can tell you there is a huge difference between quality sound and crap. For instance you can hear things a lot clearer, you can hear things that were missing before because the drivers couldn't keep up.

av forums and head fi are your best resources for knowledge on decent sound setups. For instance decent manufacturers like yamaha put down the true spec of the system so 160w means 160w. Other manufacturers like to get very creative with their numbers and their true power is a lot less.

Also power is not a gauge of sound quality.

Price isn't either when you have companies like beats and bose around selling products worth £15 for £300.

Yamaha are the Kings of sound bars. The starting price for audiophile quality sound bars made by yamaha is around £600. Basically this is at the cheaper end of real quality sound bars. Spend less than this and your missing out.

Yamaha sound bars range from £100 to £2000.

If all you want is a soundbar buy their £100-£200 ones.

If you want superb sound quality then buy one priced around £600-£750.

If you want the best sound bar then buy one of their £1-2k models

Ive just noticed Richer sounds are doing the ysp3300 for £549.95. Is this a newer model or a higher end model?

Why don't you just Google reviews of both? Or look at threads on avforums about both?

In a nutshell, this sound bar contains 16 sound beaming speakers which bounces sound off walls to create 5.1 or 7.2 surround sound. I own the YSP 40D which I bought in 2008 for £999 and has a staggering 42 sound beaming speakers inside! Mounted on my Yamaha Kinsei TV stand which complements the looks. No cables or satellite speakers to deal with.

Crampton and Moore have it on offer for £609 delivered. Shows 669 and select 60 discount.

I'm tempted by this c&m deal. I wonder if John Lewis will price match c&m so we would get the 2 years warranty.
Also does anybody know if you can wake it out of standby to play music off your smartphone. Or do you physically have to turn it on and switch it to Bluetooth
