Excellent Soundbar - Highly Rated, cheapest price and can be bought from Richersounds.

"The most convincing surround sound experience you'll get outside a full 5.1 system." 'What Hi-Fi? magazine'. 5-star review. Tested at £800.

Surround sound from a single speaker
The Yamaha YSP-2700 offers the illusion of speakers all around without the associated boxes and wires. The Yamaha does this by bouncing sound off the walls, from just two sources (including the subwoofer) to give a room-filling sound that could easily convince you in to thinking there are many more speakers at work. With 16 dedicated speakers and amps, the surround sound effect is the most convincing of any soundbar in its class.

IntelliBeam for the most tailored response
IntelliBeam ensures optimum multi-channel set-up by constant and precise monitoring and analysis of sound output via the supplied microphone. A wide choice of beam settings let you tailor the sound to your exact requirements including whether you're listening to stereo music or film in surround sound.

Powerful bass response
Thanks to the separate, active subwoofer, this soundbar also has real clout. With its dedicated amplifier, the subwoofer puts the 'thud' into action films, for armrest-gripping home cinema. The subwoofer is wireless, too, meaning that it can be placed wherever is convenient in the room (mains connection required).

MusicCast for music all around your home
The Yamaha YSP2700 is fully compatible with Yamaha's hugely impressive network audio system, MusicCast. With MusicCast you can control all your compatible Yamaha MusicCast products via your smartphone or tablet. Play the same music on all the components or split the sound into different zones for different moods in each room; the choice is yours.

Advanced networking including Apple AirPlay and Bluetooth
Built-in Apple AirPlay means that you can stream music from your Apple iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad or other compatible Apple device, wirelessly. If you use another brand of smartphone or tablet then you've also got Bluetooth, for easy music streaming from your portable device.

Wi-Fi, DLNA and a smart app for effortless streaming
Also standard with the YSP-2700 is Wi-Fi, giving easy connection to your home network. A DLNA certified connection makes streaming a breeze. You can access your stored music from PC, laptop or NAS drive and listen to Internet radio stations and music services such as Spotify, Qobuz and Napster. Another great feature is the free Apple or Android app that lets you control many of the soundbar's functions from your smartphone, iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad or tablet.

Connect it all
Featuring three HDMI inputs, it's easy to connect up a Blu-ray player, games console and set-top box, as well as your TV. The sockets are compatible with HDR, HDCP2.2 and UHD 4K, meaning they'll work with the current generation of UHD4K Blu-ray players and TVs. Other inputs include both optical and coaxial digital inputs plus analogue phono inputs for your music sources.

Sleek new style
With a height of just 51mm, the YSP2700 is much slimmer than its predecessors. This low height means that it won't block your TV's picture or remote sensor. The minimalist design and aluminium chassis matches the sleekest TVs. Tuck the subwoofer out of sight and you'll have room-filling sound without the visual impact of traditional surround sound systems.

Get the impact of the cinema without the boxes, with the Yamaha YSP2700.

I haven't owned this particular model, but have had the two previous version (2200 and 2500). Both sounded fantastic, and the surround effect bouncing off the walls worked really well in both places I was living (even the one with a weird shaped lounge!)

Connectivity is great and supports most of the audio formats.

I have had this since the spring. The sound from this is fantastic and deserves the 5 star review from “What Hi-Fi”. When watching a film you hear every detail. When playing Music is really does sound nice with punchy bass from the included subwoofer. The volume goes very loud when you really want to crank it up. I would compare this to the Bose Soundtouch 300 set up, but the bose with the subwoofer will cost you twice as much. I listened to a lot of sound bars before i made my purchase, and decided on this because i thought it sounded the best for the price. Would of liked a dolby atmos set up, with the Samsung k950 but again its over a grand. For the money you cant go wrong with this one.

Depends what you mean by standard tv and movies. If you are watching HD or 4K video with 5.1 or 7.1 audio then this is amazing and works fantastic, I have been using it for more than a year instead of a pair of BOSE speakers.

If you only watch TV on freeview then there's not much point of buying this, although it will still sound way better than any in built tv speakers. Just not £600 better.

Sky Movies, BBC HD channels and some other TV channels have surround audio (sometimes).

I've had a 5.1 surround set for years now (with 2 speakers behind me), but the receiver that came with it is not passing through 4k .

Does a wireless bar like this one actually make you hear as if sound is coming from behind you? I love playing games with surround sound and hearing enemies etc behind me, but i'm worried that sound waves bouncing off walls is just not the same as having physical speakers in place

This is an amazing bit of kit. I have had one for nearly a year now. Purchased from Richer Sounds. Service from the Brighton branch was excellent.

I love the unit. It has a pass through function so that I can use my TV without turning it on, if required. It also has 3 HDMI inputs and an ARC output.

Sound quality is way beyond this price bracket. I have heard better, but that was a B&W setup costing 3K, and that is without factoring in the cost for a AV receiver.

I can also stream/bluetooth music via the Musicast app. Easily beats the sound bar on my LG G7. I looked around for a while before settling on this sound bar. If you predominantly want it to play music, then there are many other alternatives. But for movies/surround effect, this is only beaten by its elder brother.

yes it does but you need to be in a room with walls either side of the tv, as the sound reflects off the walls. If your tv sits in a wide open space then the effect will be less pronounced.
