Accidentally clicked on 'Like' instead of 'Reply' above. To be honest what I've found is that Yankee Candles offer very decent value for money compared to cheaper candles as they have very long burn times and are very well scented. I used to go to TK Maxx and pick up whatever cheap candles they had there that smelt nice in the clearance section but it was really a lucky dip as to how the candles would be. Plenty of them you'd get them home and light them and you'd get a really disappointing weak scent when lit, at least with Yankee candles you always know that you have that consistency in that they will be long lasting and fill the room with scent really nicely.

Candle snobbery?

No, they just smell better and burn evenly. You get maybe 20 hours out of an Airwick candle, which will tunnel and after half of that it just smells like burning - my Vanilla Frosting Yankee from christmas still has about 1/3 left and smells amazing.

I agree ! I am now a Yankee convert. I use to not understand why people would pay that price for a candle till I got one in a present. They have an amazing strong smell. Love them now .
Definately a good deal. thanks for posting.

I bought one too.. it made me smell nice, my cat a millionaire, the street was re paved, it rained last month and my aunt in Australia had a baby.

None of this happened when I bought a normal priced candle at the local shop.

Or just put some washing up liquid on your wrists...

I have stopped buying Yankee and started buying Village Candle ones instead. I only buy the small sample/votive ones so they are the same price as Yankee.

I read that since Yankee were taken over by another company, they have changed their wax and they don't smell as much as they did.

Village Candle seem to be the main competitor to Yankee and the jars etc look virtually the same.

I have only bought about 8 or so but I would highly rec trying the Vanilla Caramel Swirl and Lemon Pound Cake for starters.

They throw off a lot of scent so will last a long time. I don't burn them but grate them and put a tsp full in my wax burner, they smell stronger and last ages that way.

Hi, sorry for the delay in replying.

If you email the rep for your area, they will tell you who stock their candles.

The Lemon Pound Cake is so strong, I have put some of the grated wax in glass tea light holder and I'm using it as an air freshener! It smells wonderful.

You are welcome ;).

If you like fresh smelling ones, the Rain and Summer Slices (watermelon and cucumber) are good.

I am hoping they bring the Coffee Bean and Rum Raisin over to the UK.

These are the small candles available in the UK villagecandle.co.uk/dep…htm but I find the USA site gives better descriptions of the scents.villagecandle.com/fra…spx .

I am looking out for the Warm Apple Pie next .

Good luck, hope you find some locally, it will save on p+p costs (if you were to buy from Ebay etc).
